It got close with the Hunter Biden fiasco almost exposing his Chinese bribes, but the media was successful in covering that up too.
I’m not seeing the connection here. The Hunter Biden issues are all European, none touch on China at all.
You can't continue to print money because then there's nothing backing the dollar other than what people "agree" upon as a value.
That is really true of all currencies. Backing in physical materials such as gold or oil depends on what people agree the value of those commodities is. Currencies were actually more unstable when they where all backed because the fluctuations in those markets had huge real world effects.
But the crucial point in this is the US has a debt of over 120 percent of yearly GNP.
It’s run up over the last couple of years because of Covid disaster expenses. It will need to be reduced but it isn’t out of control yet.
With India, Brazil, China, Russia (and Europe not far behind) on dismantling US authority by dismantling its currency …
China and Russia are really keen on switching to their own currencies for global trade but nobody trusts those governments so it isn’t happening on a large scale. In some ways reducing global dependency on the dollar would be good for the US, it would make US exports cheaper and bring jobs back to the US.
