Rather she supervised the prosecution of the five, interfered with their ability to obtain defense counsel, and was found to have coerced confessions from them. According to an appellate court judge “I was concerned about a criminal justice system that would tolerate the conduct of the prosecutor, Linda Fairstein, who deliberately engineered the 15-year-old's confession. ... Fairstein wanted to make a name. She didn't care. She wasn't a human.” It want simply Reyes’ confession that changed the convictions, it was the fact that DNA and forensic evidence cooperated his claims.

Florida is far from a red fortress. The Democratic Party there is inept and disorganized and lacks a data operation, they attempted to retread Charlie Christ (previously your guy) in a midterm year so a predictable disaster, and they turned over redistricting to the governor who created legislative maps that, if we had courts willing to enforce the voting rights act, would have redrawn them.

What they need is a Stacy Abrams like figure to duplicate what she did in Georgia and Florida would probably become as Democratic as Virginia or Colorado is now.

Fundie has a point but then overshoots the mark. No doubt living in a Protestant society affects everyone’s ways of thinking, especially on topics like religion, many people don’t even realize. Also, many of the people who set the tone for atheist discourse originated from those traditions and There is a reason we didn’t see secularism as we understand it coming from a country like Japan, for example. Of course that’s more of a discussion over a couple of beers.

Where this guy is wrong is that just because secularism emerged out of Protestantism doesn’t mean that it gets to dominate everyone else. Pluralism has proven itself over and over again to be the strongest and most dynamic way to run a society.

The conservative activist group “Judicial Watch” sued to force Clinton to turn those over to the government and lost because the judge determined they were personal records.

That is not the case with what Trump stole and improperly and unsafely stored and displayed. He is citing this case because he learned about this case from the non-lawyer head of Judicial Watch a man named Tom Fitton.

Believe it or not there are actually good faith discussions that can be held concerning locker rooms and restrooms to help protect everybody’s privacy and safety; in fact the safety of trans people is at stake too. But blanket bans and not even discussing or looking at the real evidence isnt’ going to do it.

Same with dealing with sexual abusers and predators, although, in most of those cases it isn’t exactly a sudden thing. More like they had never told anybody about their feelings before and as a result they wound up channeling them into inappropriate ways of expressing them. Ironically, if we were more encouraging and accepting of gender differences and treated them like the normal part of the human experience it is than they would be fewer of those kinds of predators because they won’t be dealing with internalized transmisogyny and how that can mess with their thought processes.

No, the onus is on you to show that he’s doing a bad job, not on us to prove he isn’t. Afghanistan is probably the worst debacle but if you want to have a *serious* discussion about what happened there and not just score cheap political points, then you’re going to have to grapple with decisions made and not made by presidents of both parties stretching back as far as *at least* the Carter administration and probably an even more difficult conversation regarding US foreign policy since the end of World War II.
