Americans like you, if you are indeed American, needs to understand that these allegedly assimilated "latinos" are not assimilated at all nor do they ever intend to be hence their racial set-asides and LATINO HERITAGE Month and LATINO Ethnic Studies Classes in schools along with all their LATINO Advocacy Groups and LATINO Government Agencies like that LATINO Congressional Caucus and LATINO Chamber of Commerce of theirs that works AGAINST AMERICANS in FAVOR of LATINOS.
So; According to this dumbass, all Latinos need to completely deny their ethnic makeup to the point of abhorring their very heritage, faith expressions, food, maybe even names! REAL AMERICA isn’t people who excel at bland dorkiness and skin cancer. REAL AMERICA is a melting pot of different cultures of many immigrants creating a bigger whole. Sure; Much it it has had a sizeable influence from Europe (and the USA, itself started as British colonies) but it has always been multicultural. REAL AMERICA is an IDEAL, not a skin tone.
Every group contributes something from “The Old Country” and makes THAT “American”. Even “foreign” food in the USA tends to be an “Americanized” version. Italians in Italy don’t eat Spaghetti and meatballs and real Chinese food in China is (to us) straight up WEIRD (offal, eels, sea slugs, etc.) and “Chinese Fortune Cookies” were likely invented by some Japanese immigrants in California! Irish people in Ireland are into “Bacon & Cabbage”, not “Corned Beef & Cabbage” and the Corned Beef was borrowed from the Jews. The big staple of St. Pats in the States is Irish & JEWISH (‘Oh Danny Boyyyyyy…who just had his Baaarrr Mitzvaaaaah…').
REAL AMERICAN is not a “Blood & Soil” thing (Unless your into stuff from various American cultures like wigwams, frybread, wearing buckskins or parkas, totem poles, hunting buffalo, building mounds and ‘game day’ involving Lacrosse and having Medicine People as clergy). It’s a more “human-made” cultural thing constructed over time…and it’s wonderful!
The United States of America is (ideally) a Nation of Nations and a refuge for those fleeing bad stuff in their old countries! They don’t hate the culture of their old countries…it’s who they are…they’re fleeing war and poverty and want to start anew in a new land in peace and safety.
Folks like the OP, The Trumps, Steve Bannon, Stephen Miller and the rest, refuse to see it that way. Hopefully, there will be a HUGE Blue Wave to wash that Red Tide out and thus begin a newer, kinder, more Progressive USA that welcomes immigrants and turns from imperialism and it’s bigoted, hypocritical history.
It’s not either/or; You can still be a bona-fide American and retain some stuff from the “Old Country”. That’s what America is about!

The irony of Leave It To Beaver is that, compared to real life families back then, the Cleaver’s parenting style would actually be quite progressive and liberal. Ward & June were kind, understanding, supportive, nurturing and never used corporal punishment…Real parenting in the old days tended to be a lot harsher.
