As we all know, every prison and penitentiary needs a warden. Planet Earth has effectively been locked down in the form of a financial prison and economic penitentiary for nearly the past 6000 years. That’s why some of the major civilizational/cultural calendars of the world are keeping track of a similar time span now approaching the 6000 year mark.
Or maybe, it’s just that the first urban civilisations and written languages emerged in parallel (I would assume for climatic reasons) five thousand years ago, so it makes sense to place the start point for the reckoning of history shortly before the start of history (prehistory obviously has no documents to date, so even if you can contemplate, with fantasy or existential anxiety, an unknowable age of unknowable length preceding the world as we know it, you at least don’t have to worry about it when fulfilling your scribely duties!)…
Mayan Long Count Calendar Ended in 2012
No, it’s just a period for keeping track of time over spans far longer than generations, like millennia! It is far from the highest order of cycles - a stela references 13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.0.0.0.0 - the full cycle would thus close at a date over 41 octillion years into the future, way into the Black Hole era of the Cosmos. Truly strange aeons.
Hindu Calendar: Kali Yuga is now 5138 years old
Apparantly, it’S 5,126 years, actually, and we still have 426,874 years to go.
Also, notably, unlike the Jewish and (presumed) the Mayan reckoning, the start year here is not Creation, but the death of Krishna, and indeed, this age is the end of a four stage circle.
Note that the latter two may be pretty close to each other, but the same cannot be said to the Jewish reckoning or six thousand years.
those who claim to be the ‘Chosen People’
I’m pretty sure that the number of Jews outside of Israel’s right wing who hold such a belief is negligible.
run it as a permanent planetary penitentiary (administered via financial/economic carrots and sticks at every turn), which they have painstakingly fabricated over the past 5000 plus years.
Is the Book of Mormon part of their mythology? Because Polynesia and the Americas have been firmly outside the Jews’ grasp until way more recently - yet you cite the Maya to confirm your antisemitic myths…
#1 — Israel is where the Chosen People originated, except it really isn’t—they actually came from Egypt (but that’s another story for another day).
Exodus is just a propaganda myth. The Israelites were almost certainly already one of the various people settled in the area at the time of the Bible’s (only more historical by the grace of low bar) conquest narrative.
#2 — Ukraine is where Ashkenazi Jewry and Sephardic Jews originated from after centuries of diasporas from the Khazar Khaganate after it was conquered by Svyatoslav I Igorevich who was Prince of Kiev.
NO!!! ! The Ashkenazim are from the Rhineland, the Sephardim from al-Andalus, both were there before the Khazarian Khagante even formed, if the Khazars converted to Judaism at all (basically, it’s a Jewish “And the name of the kid? Albert Einstein!” story), it was only a tiny elite minority, and their core territory was South Russia!
