The Crocodile god, Offler, has only given his people one prohibition: Don’t eat Broccoli. Everything else is okay, he won’t send you to hell for any behavior. There are still consequences, but he doesn’t have to commit you to INFINITE suffering for FINITE sin.
And if you Do eat broccoli…? Well, you ate broccoli. Pretty much punished yourself, there.

I cannot imagine or sign onto a system where an allegedly benevolent being set up Hell, with the intention to send people there. Especially an omnibenevolent being.How could any compassionate being enjoy Heaven if anyone is suffering in Hell?

Hold on, I recognize this book! This is the exact same book Caelan Conrad looks at in their Gender Critical: Inside a Cult series. In particular, ”Gender Critical: Conversion Therapy” is the one where they dissect the arguments in the book and points out how similar they are to gay conversion therapy.

Thankfully, it looks like the book isn’t available on Amazon anymore. We don’t need transphobic parents trying to practice DIY conversion therapy on their kids. And we certainly don’t need more Leelah Alcorns.

Let’s pretend that percentages were redefined to work like this. He’s claiming the following: $600 ÷ (600%/100) = $100. Or alternately, $600 × (100/600%) = $100. Whichever one you would use depends on exactly how you would typically frame this new idea of what percentages are supposed to be, the math works out the same either way.

Under this new idea, let’s say that the price was instead reduced by 50%. The math then works out to $600 ÷ (50%/100) = $1200. Or $600 × (100/50%) = $1200. Ummmmm… so $1200 is lower that $600? And for that matter, increasing $600 by 50% would result in $300. Reducing *or* increasing something by 100% would both result in no change. Increasing or reducing something by 0% would break math.

The only way this could possibly make sense is if you used a different definition of “percentage” depending on whether you were reducing or increasing a value, which would mean reductions and increases could never be less than 100%, which would also be inconsistent with how math works in general.

It's speculation on my part but it's possible for a true believer's false and unrealistic expectations to exacerbate conditions like depression, so it may have played a role in David's recent suicide. Relying on methods that do not work can get in the way of properly addressing problems, like with other forms of evasion. Other factors not helping could be a reputation for unreliable statements, but some have successful business models based around such. Apparently Wilcock struggled financially, but it could also be due to depression itself.

In any case, RIP. It reminds me that I was very alienated from reality in my youth, misdirected and confused by propaganda. I also know what if feels like to be very invested into what I then discovered to be vanity...

Ironically, a cult like the JWs will keep saying that any activity not serving "Jehovah" (the organization) is vanity. Ignorance and curiosity then led me to other mostly vain venues and cultic movements, still being stuck in fear, superstition, fantasy and power seeking.

I was also reading on usenet what I now understand to be extremist propaganda. Well, I still read some of that on FSTDT, but as part of an activity to put them in context critically, not out of gullibility...
