Basically, we’re not ever completely free of our society. We just don’t think that society includes any of several divine individuals that superstitions claim to exist.

Before I became an atheist, I’d read all the books in the child’s section of the library and was lying to the librarians. They wouldn’t let me read the Conan books so i said it was for my Mom.
My intellectual development was fine from before and through my conversion to atheism. You’re just projecting an assumed superiority you can’t support.
