I can point to some people who's ancestors weren't colonizing anything. Here's a list for Europe: Ireland, Finland, Iceland, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Belarus. Lithuania, Estonia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia.

On the flip side, listing all the expansionist African nations or the ones that happily engaged in slavery and the slave trade wouldn't make "All black people" warmongers or slavers. Just because a country did something wrong in the past doesn't mean the current residents are all "insert descriptor."

While it doesn't absolve the issues of the past, blaming people who had nothing to do with the problem doesn't help either. Instead of trying to be divisive, we should work together and fixing the problems.

That's because he doesn't "prove" things anymore. I'm not sure exactly when this behavior started, but it is to such a degree that he won't provide citations, refuses to engage in debate/conversation about stuff, and absolutely abhors revealing what his position on any topic is.

I believe his "reasoning" was to not get misquoted or strawmaned, but it is laughable in practice. Is he a YEC or OEC? Won't say, but he will attack evolution. Flat Earther or Geocentrist? Think it's at least closer to the latter, though he often has raised his doubts about any sort of space travel, never mind the moon landing. Heck, as far as I'm aware he hasn't expressed much about his faith. I think he is Baptist, but some odd variant based on what he has said. It's extremely weaselly and cowardly of him, but does let him always be on the attack. If you can easily rebuff a point with "That's not my position" and move to your next attack, it's so easy to "win." Least that's why I imagine he refuses to stand for any position.

But the issue is exacerbated by the fact that they do not feel safe calling the police. The entirety of violence, racial tension, and crime is fairly complicated an issue. The BLM movement is trying to fix one aspect of it, that people who are supposed to uphold the law target, harass, and kill a disproportionate number of black people, and that even police methods differ when the suspects are different races.

Whether you agree, disagree, or think certain aspects are debatable,strawmaning the opposition only makes you look like an idiot. Maybe if civil servants sworn to uphold the law were easier to hold accountable and actually punished for their misdeeds, BLM would shift their focus to other things.

But it's not like it's a "new" problem. Hell, it was a major focus of Tales from the Hood, as a silly example, and that movie is almost 20 years old.

There really isn't. We butcher animals for food because, for large swaths of the population, humans as omnivores need meat to survive. Good for that guy if he always treats service people with respect, but as anyone working in the service industry will tell you, the opposite often happens. Connotations of "primitive" or "ugly" or whatever would be why people don't want the term to be casual slang.

1. It's not the "Jewish" Bible that endorses slavery. It's the Bible. Aside from slavery instructions in the Old Testament, calls to obey Masters are in the New Testament. Also there is a lack of saying that you shouldn't own slaves, which is silly when there are verses reversing God's stance on say. the dietary requirements and divorce.
2. Abolitionism in Europe was spawned during the Enlightenment, which is not exactly the most religious movement.
