So they executed Jesus for not being Jewish, then created a backstory that made him Jewish, in order to sell people a new religion worshipping Jesus?

I agree that Lewis incorporated elements of Christianity into the Narnia books. But it was never EXPLICIT; the words "Jesus", "Heaven", "angel" and so forth are missing from those books. In fact, when I first read them as a child, the Christian connection went right over my head.

Christianity is strongly implied, especially when Aslan's father, the Emperor-Over-Sea, is mentioned, or when Aslan sacrificed himself and was resurrected. But no one refers to Aslan as Christ.
