I know that as a trans girl struggling with trying to figure out who I was, the Matrix really spoke to me. I've mentioned it here before, but I always thought that that movie made for a great metaphor or whatever for a trans persons struggle to live an authentic life. The world is like this, everyone says, but you know, deep down, something's wrong, but you can't explain what it is, until you catch a glimpse of something that reminds you of something inside yourself that you've never even been able to properly grasp, and then you wake up. Something like that anyway. At least, for me personally. I can't speak for every trans person, obviously. Of course, I knew I "wanted to be a girl" before the Matrix came out. Still, I connected my own experiences with that movie pretty strongly. I get so annoyed when these idiots use the term "red pill".
