A mood killer? wow..... how bad do you think sex is?

God created it! He is a part of it! So much so that he creates more human beings with it!

It is so beautiful ... the closer that a married couple gets to God, the closer they get to each other (picture a triangle).

How much it could add to the spiritual/emotional side of sex...the utter beauty and elation.

Last night for the first time in a long time I had a wet dream. I know it isn't usually a sin, but I'm not sure about this time. I was having a lustful dream, and the next thing I knew, I was waking up to an orgasm. A couple of weeks ago, I confessed to masturbation, and since then, I have not once masturbated or even had the want to do so. I just want to know if this would be considered a mortal sin or not, because I'm starting to feel a little guilty, and I'm not sure why. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was talking with a friend about the current direction of our government (what Catholic, Christian, or conservative individual isn't) and asked their thoughts. The only thing they are planning (or thinking that may happen) is that they'll have to hide their dear pastor friend in their house if things become detrimental for religious. I was saying that I'm thinking of storing cash somewhere other than a bank in case we had to flee in the middle of the night. I know, crazy talk, right? Well, just curious if there are any other crazies out there (I know there are). What real plans are you making/preparing for?

[On why God gives some people mental illness.]

I'm hearing impaired. Yes, I'm aware it's not a mental illness. My belief i that God blessed me with it so that I would not hear the negative things that are said about me. I'm aware of it's negative drawbacks but pay no attention to them.

My theory is that God gave the mentally challenged a gift wrapped in a challenge which he knew that they would be strong enough to handle. In fact this challenge itself provides the opertunity to build up their strength and character. So is the knowledge that they can overcome anything, if they can over come their personal challeges.

Further more, to address the negative side (the curse), my theory is that they suffer. But their suffering allows them in a unique way to understand the suffering of Christ. They may better recieve Christ because they have suffered and overcame just as Christ has. It's a unique oppertunity, just like anyone else, to understand and have a relationship with Christ.

That's why he [God] gives people Mental Disorders.

So, I was wondering if buying used books online, like thru the used venders on Amazon.com, was bad, as in can books be cursed? I noticed alot of the vendors from Oregon or NY, and I know occult is big in lots of those areas. I checked other books some of the vendors had and they had many demon, occult, type of books sometimes. I take Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, so I know I have nothing to fear... but if I give some books (like Catholicism for Dummies) as a gift to someone who is not a believer yet, do they get harmed?

Otherwise, you expose yourself to great spiritual danger. Our fasting should not be self-willed, but obedient.

Otherwise, it can bring us close to the demons, who never eat at all.

What degree of being unclothed around each other is permitted to spouses before it becomes a sin against marital chastity? Assume that spouses can be unclothed during the marital act, although I've never seen this in writing. But what about incidental situations not related to the marriage debt, such as changing clothes in front of each other, sleeping in skimpy nightwear (or none at all), or even showering together? I'm currently bed confined due to surgery, and my wife has been washing me, but I was wondering if morality required that we get a male home health aide, as bed baths require me to be unclothed not in the context of the marriage act.

Separation of Church and State is an error! It is not the ideal! The Church should guide the state, the Church law should have precedent over state law, the Bishops of the Church should be required to approve any laws proposed by lawmakers.

As for freedom of the press, error has no right! Even our modern Catechism says that law makers have the duty to make porn illegal, authentic Catholicism teaches that heresy, impurity all kinds of poison should not be freely available!

We are all Catholics first, members of that consecrated nation, that people set apart!

Saying "The world is overpopulated enough" is a pure excuse and alame one. You lack the facts. One main reason there are so many problems in the world is because there are not enough younger people- there is an entire gemeration of people who shoudl be here but aren't! These people could have solved the problems we have today....instead the older people are more in abundance than us younger people and it is getting worse because WE ARE NOT HAVING ENOUGH CHILDREN!!! Do you realize that the muslim nations will take over the world soon if we do not start having more children? Answering the New Atheism is really good. They discuss the flying spaghetti monster, the microscopic orbiting teapot, etc. It focuses on Dawkins worship of chance and how it would be mathematically impossible for random chance to lead to the creation of the universe, planets, suns, life, humans. He doesn't use religious arguments, but logical and scientific ones. He shows that Dawkins worships a god called Chance, and that his worship has no logical basis.

He also shows that, if Random Chance is the creative force in the universe, there is no morality possible. For true atheists, there is no basis upon which to construct a morality other than what is beneficial to you at the moment, or maybe what is beneficial to your tribe or species at the moment.

[Why is non-religious "gay marriage" not ok?]

The union of two members of the same sex is simply not marriage. To say that it is, leaves the union that marriage has always been without a word to identify it.

If we begin to assign the word “cat” to dogs, we are left without a word to describe that small feline that people have for pets.

Further, changing the name of a thing does not change the nature of what that thing is. A rose by any other name is still a rose. The relationship of two people of the same sex will always be that—regardless of what one calls it. It will never ever be the union of two persons whose individual sexualities complement and complete each other in every way. Only marriage is that. We are talking honesty here. To say that two different things are the same is simply not the truth!

Bush's problem is that he is too respectful of the Constitution.

His predecessors have used Executive Orders to really mess things up. Taking coal deposits out of development and production, for example.

Bush could have, on day two, ordered drilling for oil and gas.

And reveresed the previous executive orders banning coal.

And ordered surplus military bases used for refinery locations.

And issued additional operating licenses for new nuclear electric generating facilities.

AND mandated that all railroads switch to electric power instead of using diesel power.

He could have done those things.

Instead he allowed the Liberal Democrats and Liberal Republicans to tie up the economy in bureaucratic knots.

One of the Ten Commandments forbids stealing and another of the Ten Commandments forbids coveting (envy). Bush allowed the Liberals to use legal manipulations to steal from the people and to get away with envy of people who are productive and produce the things that we all need for our daily existence.

foolishmortal #fundie forums.catholic.com

I believe it's the rhythms that do it. Rock originates from black areas of America, which originated from tribal beats used in guess what? The stuff of Psalms 95: witchcraft.
We can't blame the black people for those sounds, but that's what they were used for, originally. It got lost in time.
Art moves people. Some move people in very immodest ways. The way the Africans and African-Americans dance is, sorry to say, immodest, but no more immodest than pagan-style dancing of the West or any pre-Christian civilization. Being moved to move as such are the fruits of demonic entertainment. Gregorian chant is the most modest. Classical music is beautiful, but still too immodest for worship as it inspires the wrong sentiments, for lack of a better word, in people.

There's a psychology of music that Satan, and those oppressed understand and the Christian world, and those misguided by the world, has forgotten. Rock stirs up the passions and it's not for the passion of Christ.

Like I said, though, I can't get it out of my system. It does not inspire godly thoughts and movements of the soul and is thus, disruptive to it. That makes it unhealthy. It's nice if young people are fired up for the Pope and the Church but is it because it was made hip? Is it the lite version of rock? Is it yet another compromise with the way of the world? If the glitz was taken away and Catholics were put into camps, will there be any real substance in their souls when it's not fun to be Catholic? I wonder.

There is no beauty in rock itself. God is the creator of beauty; not ugliness, and thus...well, you can guess. Sometimes Alice Cooper can feel like a good stress reducer, but I only feel comforted by beautiful, innocent-sounding sounds like JMT's light stuff, Gregorian chant and Enya.
Well, I guess, being that she has some songs that would seem to be pagan like "Pax Deorum (I think the song is called, which is like "peace of the gods")", beauty can be deceptive, as used also by Satan (as he was beautiful as an angel and can fake it to deceive), but the point is that God creates beauty and not ugliness and so ugly sounds that move the base passions come from guess who?
It must be faced. This is why the stripping of beauty from our churches and from the designs for new ones was far more serious that should not be overlooked as being not a disaster in that it's still tradition with a small "t" and not a heresy. The devil is smarter than us and finds loopholes. I think he found it with rock bands playing Mass music but Christian rock may, in itself, be a Satanic device and confusion for the soul at even papal visits.

Yeah, you guys can leave here if you don't want to be challenged. You could think objectively, though.

East and West #fundie forums.catholic.com

[In response to a post arguing for the rationality of atheism]

I would have to disagree with almost everything you have said. First, the Atheist position is self refuting because it has to assume that the universe comes from nothing. This is contrary to reason. It cannot be self existant because the universe passes through time or is in time. This being the case, if the universe (or multiverse) always existed, it would have to pass through an infinite number of "days" to reach this point in time. But you cannot pass through an infinite number of days. No, nature has to have a begining and cannot come from either itself or nothing.
Second, Atheism is not the simpler position. To actually believe that self aware beings came from billions of completely random processes is less simple than the idea that an intelligent being has order the universe and brought self aware beings into existence.
Third, I believe that Atheism creates many more objections than the theistic poistion. I await your response.

East and West #fundie forums.catholic.com

I couldn't agree more. I often say that it is more likely that a unicorn is dancing on a rainbow outside of my window than that God does not exist. At least is is rationally possible that such a unicorne exists but that I cannot see him. But it is rationally impossible that God does not exist.
I told my confirmation students that in order to be an honest atheist, one has to remove one's brain, pour it into a blender, turn on the blender, pour it on the ground, let a dog comsume it and barf it up, then pour it back in to his or her head.

Discimination may be good in many instances, i certainly agree, but in this instace it is not because it strifles discussion about the truth, the truth about the fake science that is darwinism.

Now, about the so-called plagerism, let leave that up to the courts, unless of course we can see first hand any evidence of wrongdoing.

But still we should not let any accusations of plagerism distract us from the truth that "expelled" has exposed, the truth that the darwinists are using stalinist tactics in order to cover up the truth and stifle discussion that is destrimental to their phoney science.

Even if you remove all those disputed "animations" the message of expelled is NOT diminished one bit.

1) She isn't allowed to lock the bathroom door. She can close it, and we knock before coming in, but it isn't safe to lock doors.
2) She isn't allowed to go over to her friends' houses. I am just not comfortable letting her go. Who knows who we live around? However, her friends are allowed coming over, and she can have one stay the night.
3) No boys are allowed. She is allowed to have male friends, but they aren't to be at the house, even when my husband and I are home. I know how teenage boys are.
4) She doesn't know her own password to her internet account. She's only to be online when my husband and I are at home, so we can keep watch over what she's doing.
5) She isn't allowed to watch/listen to movies or music unless we check it out beforehand. Even anything rated G. I no longer trust the MPAA.
6) We drive her to school, and we pick her up. She wishes to drive.
7) There is no door to her bedroom. She has a walk in closet, so she dresses in there.
8) No piercings, jewelry, or tattoos, of course! Also, no painted nails.

I agree - the anti-Catholic sentiment is getting stronger. But what this tells me is that our Faith and the Church is getting strong and Satan is striking harder. He will never attack what he does not see as a threat. He's not going to attack Joel Olsteen, for example, because good ol' Joel just helps his cause. No - Satan will strike at what is his greatest threat, and that can only be the Bride of Christ - the Catholic Church.

So while it is infuriating, frustrating, and sad on the one hand, I find it encouraging that we are totally pissing off Satan. I say bring it on, you evil bastard, bring it on. Because the gates of hell will not prevail against her, and you will just burn yourself out trying in her glory.
