So I was a bit confused about this quote at first. It looks like typical right-wing fearmongering boilerplate, but it just doesn’t read like a Trump quote, there’s not nearly enough caps, exclamation marks, and self-aggrandizing. Then I realized it was from his son.

…Something about those two sentences together does not quite compute. Probably because afaik Hamas is just as transphobic and homophobic as the American right wingers are, if not more so, so why would they be a threat to everything BUT LGBTQ+ people?

He’s saying homophobia makes cultures “strong” because men aren’t all “feminized”, and acceptance of LGBTQIA+ people makes cultures weak because we turn all the tough men into weak women.

Of course this is relying on the stereotypes and LGBTQIA+ people are weak and no one can be manly and gay/bi or trans. It’s also contradictory because this stereotype of “all LGBTQIA+ people are weak” ignores the stereotype of lesbians as super manly butch dykes. But that’s bigotry - their cognitive dissonance is so strong they can believe both stereotypes at the same time and simultaneously be afraid of butch dykes kicking their asses AND of homophobic brown people beating up everyone because we’ve been feminized.

Other badass female deities I can think of are Ishtar (Mesopotamian goddess of love, war, fertility, beauty, law, and power), Bast (Related to Sekhmet; Egyptian Cat Goddess who is also one of Ra’s bodyguards and strong enough to fight equally with Apep of all monstrosities), Izanami-no-Mikoto (Japanese Creator Deity and Mother Goddess of the Shinto pantheon)… Or even any female Aesir, Vanir, or Jotnar from Norse mythology. They’re pretty much all badass warriors.

It’s just as I believe, fanaticism breeds fanaticism and extremism breeds extremism. The more people flock to one far-end of a spectrum, the more people who even remotely disagree with them will start flocking to the opposite far-end of the spectrum. Almost like reality itself is trying to balance it out in the worst way possible. And that keeps going like a vicious cycle until the whole thing breaks apart.

So, in short, the only way to fight any extremism and fanaticism is to simply say “NO” to it and always be willing to compromise and understand that the other side are also just as human as your side is.
