Vaccinations are not considered medical experimentation and therefore do not qualify under the Nuremberg Code.
But if they DID, let’s go line by line.
1) Voluntary informed consent – check. You must be told what the vaccine is and what it does. The government cannot legally force you to take the vaccine. However, it CAN restrict your ability to spread disease to others if you don’t get vaccinated.
2) Fruitful result for the good of society – check. A reduction in COVID deaths and infection rates would be a good thing.
3) Prior experimentation on animals, prior knowledge of the problems – check. The vaccines have been tested on mice and monkeys, and we have a good idea of the health concerns caused by COVID.
4) Avoidance of unnecessary physical or mental injury - check. The whole point of a vaccine is to reduce the likelihood of physical injury. Vaccinations are not a traumatic experience short of an extreme phobia, so ‘mental injury’ does not apply.
5) Banning of known lethal or disabling procedures - check. The COVID vaccine does not have statistics of related death or injury high enough to be banned.
6) (corrected) Degree of risk to be taken should not exceed the benefits of the solution — check. The likelihood of an adverse effect from a COVID vaccine seems to be much lower and much less severe than the potential adverse effects (or death) caused by COVID.
7) Proper Preparation and Facilities – check. Vaccines are to be given in hospitals, health clinics, private practices, etc. Sanitized environments with nearby medically trained professionals and medical equipment in case something goes wrong.
8) Performance by scientically qualified persons – check. Medical personnel are scientifically qualified to give a shot.
9) Human subject can bring the experiment to an end – check. You can always say no before you get the shot. See point 1.
10) Experiments must stop if they are too dangerous – check. If the vaccines were linked to a statistically significant number of severe reactions or deaths, the vaccine rollouts would be stopped while an investigation happened.
Honestly the most you can argue is that the vaccines were a little rushed, but the human test groups were huge, far larger than most vaccines or drugs usually get tested on, and we could not afford to wait when over 2 million people worldwide are already dead.
