It’s never a single joke. The comedians/politicians/etc that really do have a single offensive bit from years ago apologize if somebody remembers and people move on. It’s the ones that have years long histories of offensive jokes and are having trouble stopping telling offensive jokes that have a problem. I hope not. The Japanese invasion of China happened 2 years earlier. It is the sort of thing where picking a starting date is somewhat arbitrary because there are so many events but the relentlessly European focused view of WWII is something that should be fixed.

I like the argument that because the USA has done terrible things then Russia is justified in doing unrelated terrible things. There is just enough of a real point that it unsettles the opponent but is totally absurd when you think about it.
King Judas is parroting the Chinese government line so closely he could be a paid troll.
And Putin’s demands were not reasonable. They had a thin veneer of claimed security concerns pasted over top but at it’s core it was about returning Ukraine to being a satellite state of Russia.

Russia has enough money to pay it’s debts. The problem is that too much of it’s Dollars are held in international banks that are sanctioning Russia. So Russia is blocked from actually using that money to pay. Ben’s comment here is a mix of real events and conspiracy theory garbage about why they happened.

The Russian central bank has tied the Ruble to gold. This isn’t a challenge to the Dollar, it’s a move to prop up the Ruble. Russia has a big enough gold reserve they can probably get away with this for a while. As soon as the economic situation changes and people start wanting to exchange Rubles for gold Russia will abandon this.

I would agree that some modern D&D art depicts a lot of races and look a bit odd. This is because they need to include some art of every playable race rather then some weird bias. The first part of this depends on two misunderstanding two things. First, there isn’t a reliable anti-missile system for ICBMs. Even for smaller missiles the best systems are meh. Israel is using the best American built system and can’t entirely block the cheap hand built unguided rockets lobbed at them. Second, even if there was it wouldn’t help against MAD. Russia has enough nuclear fire power that if they really wanted to retaliate they could launch 10 feet in the air and detonate.
