This is exactly why diagnosing trans people (including children) is based in blind, unquestionable affirmation (which isn't done with ANY other physical or mental disorder).
Bullshit. Next!
a lifetime of dependence on expensive drugs, surgeries, therapy, reproductive technology & surrogacy to replace their annihilated fertility, etc
So, I take it you’re in favor of full healthcare coverage to alleviate the expensiveness, and in favor of large-scale investment into research of the aforementioned reproductive technology? :3
Why treat one mental issue specially and not the others when it falls into the same category of delusion/dysphoria disorders??
Hmm, perhaps you can ask the many relevant experts in the field who treat the issue in accordance with what their research has shown to be the best practices. But I guess you’ll instead just babble something about Big Pharma, “captured institutions” and “powerful AGP men who run the trans lobby”. *yawn*

At one of my old apartments, this crazy guy lurked around and told the women who lived in the building that God told him his future wife lived there and he needed to get married within the year. He was eventually chased away for good. But, according to the TRA treatment model, one of us girls should have taken one for the team and married him to affirm his identity as a married man.
Bad analogy. But it’s also telling that you say this. So, you and your neighbors found a mentally ill person that, according to what you say, didn’t actually harass you, and rather than try to get help for the obviously mentally ill man, you just cheered when he was chased off and didn’t spare a second thought for him (that is, until you thought of it as a cool anecdote when you needed to bash a certain minority)?
I don’t think your given example paints you in as good a light as you think.

I wouldn't even care if they were affirmed without medication they'll need all their lives for a feeling.
HOWEVER.
I take medication to cope with my depressive feelings and I am happy to take it for life. What's a good comeback on that? For some trans people the physical risks are worth it. But should that extend to people who haven't stopped (or even started!l) growing yet?
So close to getting it, yet so far.
Also, lady, what makes you think they won’t grow when they take the other set of sex hormones? As any trans person knows, the growth doesn’t stop — on the contrary, it just goes in another direction ;)

My comeback would be....
I assume you had to jump through some hoops to get that medication and didn't just waltz into a therapist's office and scream: "I'M DEPRESSED!!! GIMME [INSERT MEDICATION HERE]!!!"
The fact that you think this is how it actually works tells us all we need to know about the state of your knowledge on trans topics.
If adults who want depression meds (which are less damaging than blockers and hormones in a kid) have to prove that they need it, than a 9 year old should have to work through their other issues before being allowed to consent to castration.
A 9-year-old being castrated? What world does that happen in? I mean, ok, I think we shouldn’t ban abortion for 5-year-old cisgender boys, I guess. I also think we should regulate marriage laws with aliens from Tau Ceti, and that wanting to bang your own mom when she was younger isn’t a valid reason to be issued a time travel license. That’s just me, though.
