I reject your assertion that identity needs an enemy Other, and especially to consider all the Others enemies.
Identity is NOT exclusive - especiallay not identities on different levels, that are subsets of each other. There is no contradiction in identifying with both your town and your nation, with the many layers of cultures and regions in between, with the greater supernational culture circles, civilisations and alliances your country, and with humanity as a whole, and with our planet (…and with sapient life, be it terrestrial or not, etc.). Nor with all the other identities of completely different kinds like philosophy, profession, class, etc.
How narrow your minds and how small your hearts must be. I could almost pity you, were you not such vile creatures.
Now, I do admit: you are indeed an Other, THE Other, to me, and I do indeed regard you with great hostility and incomprehension. But this is not born out of a tribalism, but from ideology; not from a hatred of tradition itself, but of the cult of tradition and of xenophobia.
