I am a white person of a Germanic people, but neither of my parents - who I have no reason to doubt and every reason to believe to be my real, biological parents - are literally Israel - whether the country or someone of that name. So this cannot be literally true.

If Germanic people are the Lost Tribes of Israel, why do they speak a western Indo-European language rather than a West Semitic one, and why did their traditional religion not resemble Abrahamism - whether Christianity, Judaism or what can be reconstructed of pre-Exile Hebrew religion - while having similarities to neighbouring Slavs and Baltics, and why were they indeed pretty resistant to Christianity?

By the way, have you actually read Genesis 3.15? The conflict is explicitly between the lineages of the Serpent and that of the Woman. Not that between the line of Adam and Eve and that of Serpent and Eve. Indeed, it very much excludes that interpretation.
Also, as I may have mentioned previously, to me, it is so incredibly obvious that that story is an aetiological myth, rather dense in that regard in fact, combined with a parable on adulthood and the loss of innocence (individual and as a species) and a justification of patriarchy, that the Serpent of Eden can only possibly be the progenitor of serpentkind - the Adam-Snake -, that his part of the Curse aims to explain why many snakes are dangerously venomous, why many people have an irrational aversion to them and why they lack linbs unlike other beasts, and that “the Serpent was the Devil all along!!1″ is really painful and desperate shoehorning to pretend that the Big Bad Evil Guy (that totally is not a dualistic God of Evil ripping off the Persian’s Angra Manyu) that curiously only appears pretty late in the Bible’s timeline was present (and yet, never really brought up…) all along.
(By the way, Jewish tradition holds that the Serpent was Lilith, who had already learned sorcery, sneaking in to ruin things for her ex and his new girl. Which at the very least is a good deal more interesting than this, in my opinion.)
