“Hey, Leviticus 20:13: ‘If a man also lies with mankind as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination, they shall surely be put to death, their blood shall be upon them,” he said in a recent sermon.
Yeah, well, Leviticus has a lot of rules that nobody follows, so you’re “pickin n choosin” as they say. But hey how about Leviticus 19:33-34, though? “And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God. ” Somehow I have a feeling that “Brother Duncan” never gave a sermon about that passage.
“You know what ‘Their blood should be upon them’ means? They’re dead! They’ve got their blood all upon them because you just rocked them to sleep,” he said, pantomiming throwing a stone to drive the point home. “Cuz they just threw a bunch of stones at them till they died and they’re just bleeding all over them, their blood shall be upon them.”
OK, wow, that one’s just TOO easy to counter now…John 8:7, kind of a famous line…. “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.”
