I’m guessing that was maybe a typo, but ya know me, I love to point those out….Obama was President from 2009 to 2017. Because that’s how Presidential terms work in the US, they’re for 4 years unless someone gets kicked out like what happened to Nixon, of if they die in office like FDR for example. Or of course JFK, and 6 others.

That’s kind of a weird thought, though….out of 45 men to have served as the President of the US, 8 have died in office, while serving as President. So, if you’re just basing this on what’s previously happened….there’s an almost 18 percent chance that if you’re elected to be President, you’ll die while you still have the job.

In which case, there’s always earplugs or even noise-cancelling headphones nowadays. I guess I’m just saying there’s things that have “triggered feelings of distress” much more than that.

That’s an argument I’ve heard quite often from anti-LGBT fundies like this, and I always thought… “OK, so what, if so?” Are people born with a certain sexual orientation and/or gender identity or is it something that develops over time as they grow up? I don’t know. But…who says you’re only allowed to discriminate against people if they weren’t “born that way”? In the US and many other countries we have laws forbidding discrimination due to a person’s religion, and that’s certainly something nobody is born with!

Also, one I didn’t think about, in the US it’s illegal for employers to discriminate based on a person’s disability, which doesn’t necessarily mean something they were “born with”!
