I believe the main "gotcha" is that black on black violence, especially gang violence, is not a main focus of Black Lives Matter. It is a whataboutism meant to distract from the point.

Gang violence is a large social problem, and one that the black community does need to deal with.

Flipside, one of the reasons for the issue to have gotten as bad as it is, is the lack of trust in the police force the black community in general has towards most law enforcement, and as highlighted by the Black Lives Matter protests, with good reason.

Until people can go "I can call the cops on this issue, I'm not going to be shot or assaulted for reporting a crime." The criminals in their community will have greater leeway to do as they please. And that includes killing each other.

Giving the very angry nature of the post a pass as relationship issues can be toxic when there are problems... transitioning is a major change. If someone is fully supportive and will stay in the relationship that is wonderful, but if it is a deal breaker it shouldn't be a call for derision.

If a cisgendered lesbian woman was trying to force relationships with cisgendered straight women, for instance, the lesbian woman would be at fault. By refusing to go through therapy to help the relationship I'd honestly more blame the transitioning party. For the second part... the picture of shooter shows him in what appears to be a prison jumpsuit. As far as I am aware, he has been arrested and with all the evidence, should be convicted. If he gets off Scot free, yeah, call for justice. Seems like justice is already in motion though.

For the first picture, sure. If a person was brutalized, he should be able to sue for damages and those who harmed him should be held accountable. It looks like a silhouette of a building with a broken window behind the white guy, so yes. If his property was damaged he should be able to get damages compensated by the guilty party.

Reparations are a bit tricker than direct compensation to a wronged party, which is why I am opposed to them. Not that I disagree with the idea behind it, but sorting everything out in a meaningful and helpful way is just far too monumental a task that I think we are capable of. Plus just handing out money doesn't address the social issues that mar the nation. I am much more in favor of general social reform and safety nets to negate as many of the ill effects that the institution of slavery wrought. Something like that is far more meaningful and impactful than just writing a lot of checks to individuals.
