A lot of them hate asexual people because you’re supposed to desire sex
In a past comment, Passer-by said: Don’t want to be a mother? Congratulations you are now a pariah in your family, community, and especially your religion. All of whom will seek to “fix” you and anything is morally acceptable in the process because as far as they are concerned it was your only reason to exist and the only real crime is your failure.
No coercive factors, now.
I responded: If the woman’s staying celibate, I don’t think Christians have a a problem with that.
And I got criticised by Passer-by for that. But Paul said in 1 Corinthians 7: I wish that all men were as I am. But each man has his own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that. Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am.
Right-wing fundamentalist Christians place a lot of importance on what Paul says. If right-wing fundamentalist Christianity is true, fornication, masturbation, lust & sexual fantasies are sins. We’d all be better off being asexual because then there’s no temptation to commit those supposed sins.
And knowing Charlie, he believes fornication’s a sin.
