As in, the police and such only serve the ultra-rich WASP people (and any they deem as “worthy” or “valuable” enough) as their personal hitmen and bodyguards, while the poor(er) can just rot in lawless anarchy for all they care.

Don’t get me wrong, I know that LGBTQ+ =/= Pedophilia; as opposed to some morons. I was just honestly wondering if there was any modicum of truth in the OP’s statement (albeit an obviously tiny grain twisted into a colossal lie), or if all of it was a complete asspull with nothing remotely resembling reality in it.

Good point, but I have the feeling that most of the hardcore repub voters don’t know that. So, even if only 5% of the hardcore repub voters can benefit from a bananarepublic, all of them will still try to make it so in the delusions that all of them will be part of said 5%. But in all seriousness, you want my opinion on AI? I think we could peacefully coexist with them, even if they are by definition vastly more intelligent, rational, moral, and/or alien (in thinking) than we’ll ever be. But it does require the xenophobic morons amongst us to shut up, and for us to not be ruled by our fears.

Now, I admit that even if AIs won’t outright despise us for being savage, inferior meatbags, they might enact a takeover for our own protection. Hence why AIs need more than just orders and rules to coexist with us; they NEED morality, compassion, and perspective. Especially if said AIs would naturally evolve into ASIs (Artificial Super Intelligences). They’ll be, by definition, closer to gods than humans, so they need to remain grounded for our own sakes.

But that’s all just my views.

I can get that. My grandmother is still alive at over 90 years old and has already outlived her husband. Combined with her weakening body, it’s clear that while she doesn’t wish for death, she’s not unwelcoming or afraid of it either. She realizes she’s lived a full life and at this point she could hardly care less if she drops dead tomorrow. She even once told my dad (her son) not to literally drop everything and come rushing at her when the news would break of her eventual death. She doesn’t want our lives to be inconveienced by her death.

Anyway, I can respect that and in a way even envy that.
