If I read this sans content, I'd presume that the author is gay and objects to being called queer. It is a thing; some people remember it as an slur and have 0 interest in reclaiming it, but then I see they were born in the nineties and that's about the time “we're here and we're queer!” came into its own.

Oh, yes, the kid was premeditating, and honestly smarter than the sitter. You don't leave a weapon and a kid unattended while going into the house for a minute.
And the kid ought to be evaluated for why hurting animals appeals to him, it's quite worrisome. Poor impulse control would have seen the sitter get shot in the butt as he walked away.

Story on Reddit: The guy was sitting a friend's brother so the brother could finish an art project. He let the kid use his old BB gun to target shoot. Kid asks for some water; dumb ass sitter goes to get water, leaving kid in possession of BB gun; kid shoots elderly, sunbathing cat—who was stung but undamaged otherwise—then gives DAS a “whatchu gonna do about it?” grin.
