Nick Fuentes is just saying the quiet part out loud. Everyone on the right knows exactly what happened on J6 and the full extent of it, and most of them are proud of it and see what happened as a good thing, except for the part that the insurrectionists didn’t succeed. However, everyone on the right also knows the majority of the country is a part of the reality-based community. And that segment of the population doesn’t look very highly upon—much less would vote for—these seditious jackasses’ True Power Level™ after seeing it in action.
They’re fully aware of the fact that most people didn’t appreciate their attempt to violently overthrow the state and publicly hang their political opposition in order to install a fascist dictator who couldn’t win a fair, honest election. So for right-wing authoritarianism simps with more sense than Nick, it’s back to hiding their True Power Level™ again by fabricating a multitude of absurd and contradictory conspiracy theories to try to explain away what really happened on J6.
Oh, and I feel like I should mention the literal shit-smearing somewhere in this, but it doesn’t really fit anywhere.
