In the late 1970’s, anarchist, activist, and writer Samuel E. Konkin III (SEKIII) released The New Libertarian Manifesto, presenting his case for a new strain of libertarianism that he called “New Libertarianism”. The philosophy behind the New Libertarian Movement was agorism, named after the “agora”, the Greek word for marketplace. “An agorist is one who acts consistently for freedom and in freedom,” SEKIII wrote.

Essentially, agorism is a radical libertarian philosophy that seeks to create a society free of coercion and force by using black and gray markets in the underground or “illegal” economy to siphon power away from the state. Konkin termed this strategy “counter-economics”, which he considered to be all peaceful economic activity that takes place outside the purview and control of the state. This includes competing currencies, community gardening schemes, tax resistance and operating a business without licenses. I recently heard a Baptist pastor tell his small congregation in a stern tone: “I don't want or need your money, God meets my needs!” Humbly said, that is a foolish thing for a pastor to say. Why is he even talking about “I”? The church belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ, Who is the Head of the Church (Ephesians 4:15; 5:23). Each saint comprises the Body of Christ. The selfish pronoun “I” has no place in the local New Testament church! What that pastor is foolishly saying is that it is his personal church, and not God's church. The Bible says that God purchased the Church with His own blood (Acts 20:28).

The pastor in question has labored diligently for the past few years, now receiving about 25 people in attendance on Sundays. Kindly said, it doesn't surprise me that the church is stagnant and hasn't grown over the years, with an ungrateful pastor who expresses ingratitude toward the people who financially give money to the church. Our attitude very much determines our altitude. God will not bless a church unless the pastor commits that ministry wholly to the Lord Jesus Christ! It is the Lord's church, nobody else's. No pastor ought ever tell his congregation: “I don't want or need your money, God meets my needs!” That is the way an ungrateful man talks! You won't find Paul talking that way in the Bible.

My purpose in life—my reason for being—is to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ and see His church strengthened and built up in America and around the world. I have no vested interest in any candidate or political party but will vote for the one whose policies are most friendly to the cause of Christ and my own reason for being.

The Democratic Party—the party of my parents and grandparents—has made this an easy choice. To cite just one example; last year, the Democrat National Committee (DNC) unanimously passed a resolution affirming atheism and declaring that neither Christianity nor any religion is necessary for morality or patriotism.

By this act, they rejected God, the Bible and any transcendent guide for truth and morality. They swallowed the lie of the serpent to our first parents that if they would ignore God's command and go their own way, "You will be like God, knowing [determining] good and evil" (Gen. 3:5b).

This move was not only a slap in the face of God, but also a rejection of America's founding generation. To cite just one example: In his first inaugural address, George Washington declared, "The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the external rules of order and right, which Heaven itself has ordained (Hyatt, Pilgrims and Patriots, 174).

Donald Trump, despite his tweets and personal flaws, has supported individual and religious liberty. He has acknowledged God and Christ and promoted policies that are friendly to the Christian cause. He has obviously moved in the direction of Christian, conservative values.
