essentially, they want to introduce the equivalent of the UKs old section 28 in Florida.
Ovarit, meanwhile., had this to say in response:
( overanddone )
they add "gender identity" as if it is the equivalent of sexual orientation.
It is not. The law should be specific. If it were, I would wholly support not teaching anything whatsoever about gender identity. It's a cult.
( ComplicatedSpirit )
they add “gender identity” as if it is the equivalent of sexual orientation.
In a way, it is. But not in the way they’d like.
It’s curious how T got tacked onto LGB when supposedly, being trans is completely different from being gay or lesbian. It’s supposed to be an issue of personal identity, not sexual attraction. Right?
So how did it get to be a part of the LGB movement?
It’s because for many TIP, it is about sexual attraction. It’s about young butch lesbians who feel like they couldn’t possibly be girls, since girls like boys. It’s about autogynephilia and transvestic fetishism.
Does that make it a legit entry into the LGB movement? No. But they’re absolutely tacking themselves onto it, in order to legitimize themselves. That’s where we get the contradiction of “this isn’t about sexual attraction” and “we are part of the gay community (now re-named the queer community to accommodate them.)”

Teaching of LGBTQ’s issues in schools? As a parent if my kid is gay who cares so long as they are happy. I do care if some ‘helpful’ teacher starts guiding them towards the teacher ideology (aka trans or some other bs). I have similar ideas based around religion There’s heaps of other clubs options ; yoga, gaming, chess, agriculture club, printing, etc.
