Oh yes, there are indeed several disturbing parallels between the Weimar Republic and the current state of the USA. Most notably, reactionaries and fascists openly engaging in political violence as well as spreading misinformation, including racism and especially antisemitism, moral panics about feminism and sexual minorities, revanchist lies about cowardly Jew-controlled politicians depriving the glorious empire of inevitable victory in abroads wars...

I must say, though: At least the Weimar Republic actually was a young democracy in a series of deep crises that do make it ever so slightly understandable for the people to perceive the entire world conspiring against them and to be desperate for a scapegoat. And in this one aspect - if in this one aspect alone -, I feel that MAGAs are arguably even worse than NSDAP supporters.
