Exactly. Here in Belgium I almost(*) never hear of police shooting people dead. Certainly not an unarmed man. But then again, our police are also under much more scrutiny and we don’t have a population armed with more military grade weapons than there are people.

(*)The most recent case I can think of is the Mawda case. In which a toddler(**) died from a runaway bullet during a police chase with dangerous human smugglers. Tragic, yes, but it caused an uproar and even years later the cop, who had the decency to feel utterly terrible, was still under scrutiny after a very lenghty investigation and trial.

(**)A toddler who was, unknowingly to the cops, being used as a shield by the smugglers inside the van.

I’ve read some of Von Daniken’s books, tbh. Not necessarily bad reads, certainly makes you think about the feats of some ancient societies, sure. And I admit there’s more to them then we might realize. But it’s not something you should take as absolute truths, like what Ancient Aliens does. Plus this “Mercury is a propulsion system” sounds far fetched even for them.

If you want my opinion on the Ancient Aliens hypothesis, I certainly don’t rule out the possibility that earth was visited by some form of extraterrestrial life in the past, visits that might have influenced our development to some degrees, but I do find a bit insulting to think every single human invention and advancement was the result of aliens just giving it to us, rather than we earning it ourselves.

Having played Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal only (so far), I’m pretty sure that the “zombies” there are not actually demons themselves, but rather what happens when average humans are warped by too much exposure to hell energy.

That being said, they’re still the weakest enemies (actual demons in Doom are much more lethal, even the Imps) and in most cases in fiction, zombies are created by some sort of virus rather than demons.

I’ll be honest, I actually enjoyed TLJ the most of the three. TFA isn’t bad, but it should have been so much more than an obvious copy/reboot of ANH. And TRoS is just more of a narrative mess than it has any right to be.

Also, what a coincidence! I’m also writing down some ideas for how I would have made the Sequels. Thing is, the general idea of them isn’t bad per se. It’s just the lack of proper planning and execution that ruined most of it IMO. I’d be willing to share some of the basic ideas if you’re interested (not everything though, I’m sure you understand I’m not giving all my ideas for stories away for free like that. Not yet, at least). If only I was truly overflowing with skill and inspiration, then I would finally stop procrastinating with finally starting my epic fanfic.
