The Campbell's Soup Company purchased a pair of two-page advertisement spreads in one of the nation's leading pro-homosexual magazines, including an ad highlighting a lesbian couple and their son, reports the American Family Association.

The advertisement for Campbell's product Swanson's broth, the AFA reports, appears in both the December 2008 and January 2009 issues of The Advocate, a magazine that touts itself with the line, "For 40 years, setting the standard in LGBT journalism."

The AFA, however, objects to the ad, particularly the frame that depicts the lesbian couple and their son, claiming that the soup company is contributing to homosexual advocacy.

"Not only did the ads cost Campbell's a chunk of money," writes AFA Chairman Donald Wildmon in an email alert, "but they also sent a message that homosexual parents constitute a family and are worthy of support."

Right on this board I've seen posts where non-Christians are criticizing the hiring practices of religious organizations, church discipline of members living in sin, as well as criticism of Christian stands against homosexuality. A sticky on homosexuality at the top of the board this evening notes the introduction of bills into legislatures around the nation mandating quotas and sensitivity training.

I've been called paranoid when I've stated persecution of Christians is on its way, but you can see the seeds of the enemy's activities being reported and stated right here.

ADDIS ABABA (AFP) – Religious leaders in Ethiopia on Monday urged lawmakers to amend the country's constitution to ban homosexuality in a move they argue could further strengthen existing codes.

At a meeting in the Ethiopian capital, nearly a dozen religious figures, including heads of Ethiopia's Orthodox, Roman Catholic and Protestant churches, adopted a resolution against homosexuality, which they termed as "the pinnacle of immorality."

They also blamed homosexuality for the rise in sexual attacks on children and young men.

"This is something very strange in Ethiopia, the land of the Bible that condemns this very strongly," said Abune Paolos, the patriarch of Ethiopia's Orthodox Church.

"For people to act in this manner they have to be dumb, stupid like animals," he told reporters. "We strongly condemn this behaviour. They (homosexuals) have to be disciplined and their acts discriminated, they have to be given a lesson."

No life comes from homosexuality; it is lifeless. It can bring forth no children. It also makes the homosexual lifeless. It is not in line with life-after-death (according to scripture, homosexuals do not go to heaven...it’s a blanket statement). Isn’t it odd, that if two males are together, one inevitably becomes a female: female mannerisms, speech, etc. If two females, one of the two takes on masculine facial features as if on testosterone. Is this, too, a mark of judgment? A better way to look at this is: if you tell God no, you inevitably tell the devil yes.

Newsweek magazine effectively declared war on marriage this week, running a long essay on "The Religious Case for Gay Marriage" as their cover story. In the wake of the victory of California's marriage amendment (Proposition 8) on Election Day, homosexual marriage advocates are realize that their opponents are not going to fade away or compromise their convictions. Not content any longer to make a "separation of church and state" argument for same-sex "marriage," they are instead mounting a direct attack on Christian opposition to homosexual conduct and to same-sex "marriage" on Biblical grounds.

There was little that was original about the essay. It strung together a lot of talking points that have wafted about the homosexual movement for years. What was astonishing was that the author (Newsweek's religion editor Lisa Miller) not only tried to explain away the Bible's condemnation of homosexual conduct, but actually claimed that "Scripture gives us no good reason why gays and lesbians should not be (civilly and religiously) married-and a number of excellent reasons why they should."

The article included blatant factual errors, such as the claim that Jesus never "explicitly defines marriage as between one man and one woman" (see, e.g., Mark 10:6-8-"But from the beginning of creation, God MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE. FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH; so they are no longer two, but one flesh."), and the claim that "nowhere in the Bible do its authors refer to sex between women" (see Romans 1:26). It also had logical contradictions, arguing for the Bible's support of "gay marriage" while simultaneously dismissing the Bible as supportive of slavery and anti-Semitism.

If homosexual activists want to simply ignore the Bible, they are free to do so. If they are going to blatantly distort its teachings, Newsweek should not help them do so.

We urge you to email Newsweek today and demand that the magazine print an accurate article presenting the Bible's true teaching about homosexual conduct and same-sex "marriage"-one equal in length to the Miller piece (which was over 2,700 words) and also run as the cover story.

Islamic governments are expected to join with the Vatican in protesting against a French-backed declaration in the UN General Assembly that calls for the decriminalisation of homosexuality worldwide.

Rama Yade, France’s secretary of state for human rights, will visit Manhattan this week to throw her weight behind a statement supported by dozens of nations that blasts the outlawing of certain types of sexual behaviour.

The 13-point declaration urges states to ensure that sexual orientation or gender identity may under no circumstances be the basis for criminal penalties, in particular executions, arrests or detention.

While the controversial document is not binding in international law, it has provoked hostile responses from leaders of religiously conservative nations that regard homosexuality as sinful.

Margaret Awino-Kafeero, a diplomat from Uganda’s mission to the UN, which currently chairs Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) meetings at the world body, said many Muslim governments rejected the declaration.

OIC delegates have discussed the gay-friendly statement and agreed that governments choosing to prosecute homosexual behaviour should object to the declaration independently.

The OIC decided it will be each individual country’s decision, Awino-Kafeero said.

The declaration indirectly criticises more than 80 countries in which homosexuality is punishable by law.

The Vatican’s permanent observer to the UN has already revealed Holy See opposition to the statement, which is still being drafted and carries the support of 56 countries.

Archbishop Celestino Migliore said the Vatican opposed the resolution because it would add new categories of those protected from discrimination and could lead to reverse discrimination against traditional heterosexual marriage.

France’s declaration is backed by EU members and has won support from non-western countries, such as Ecuador and Uruguay as well as two OIC members, Gabon and Guinea-Bissau.

1. I define marriage as the deep, lifelong, committal love between a man and a woman.
2. I've looked up the definition in the dictionary for marriage and have seen clearly what I stated above about a man and woman. I believe this to be the case just as much as it's impossible for a Christian to have a bar mitzvah, it's a Jewish initiation.
3. My personal experience with homosexuals has been bad. I was part of a group of them that were very promiscuous and they teased for being a goody two shoes to the point where I ran away either to end my life or finally have sex,(I was slow to develop physically and by that time I had no self esteem.) I've been in treatment for the last two years and have run into more types of people than a average person would in a lifetime. When I think of homosexuals I think of promiscuity.
4.Yes, it has to do with my beliefs, but that is not all of it. I'm not using God's commands as evidence, I'm debating my belief. An argument is an argument no matter what background the person comes from.

The only answer I have to that dilemma is that advertising is so subtly powerful, intelligent people cannot detect the extent of its influence over them. Hardly anyone here thinks there’s anything disturbing about this advert, yet there would have been public outrage 20 years ago.

If, 20 years from now an ad appears saying “Some people are paedophiles. Get over it,” few would object. Oh they’d object right now! All those who think homosexuality harms no-one and it’s perfectly okay for consenting adults to do what they like, protest that paedophilia is very different because it harms children. But what if a minority group decide to bombard the media with messages about those people having a faulty gene that can be ‘fixed’ and if they’re just accepted and helped, the harm will be eliminated? Or what if sex education teaches five-year-old children that paedophilia is only harmful if they resist adult advances; that if they treat it as a game they will quite enjoy it and no harm will be done? You think I’m off my trolley? Watch this space. There are sexual predators out there who know how to manipulate intelligent people. They are well on their way to getting rid of ALL sexual taboos. Homosexuality is now accepted by the majority (so they would have us believe). Anyone who questions it is instantly labeled a homophobe, as evidenced by most of these answers. Twenty years hence they will be labeling all of us as paedophobes. Exactly the same tactics will be employed for that as have worked with homosexuality. Mark my words.

God does not create a person with homosexual desires. The Bible tells us that a person becomes a homosexual because of sin (Romans 1:24-27), and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger / rage, does that make it right for them to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true for homosexuality.

If so we should make it OK for all people to give into their "sin" with no consequences.

I am from the Chicagoland area, not proudly, where this nurse worked at Christ's hospital. She gave a gruesome detailed testimony to the IL state senate depicting the horrible atrocities she had witnessed while working there. Horrible late and partial birth abortions, etc. Obama, after hearing this testimony, still voted in favor of all types of abortion to continue. He and many others have a lot of blood to account for some day. It takes a very cold heart to hear the stories this nurse tells and then turn around and vote to continue it. It sickens me. Then in his acceptance speech he thanks homosexuals-because after all they voted him in to. Thumbing homosexuality up in God's face is not advisable for our nation. I'm not surprised that they lied about the percentage of gays. They also lied about how heterosexuals were just as much at risk to contract HIV as the homosexuals. The VAST majority of those diagnosed can be attributed to homosexual sex. Next on the list is HIV drug users (I think).

Anyway, it has to do with the way the virus itself is transmitted. Not to be offensive (and I apologize if it is) but the very nature of homosexual sex makes the virus most easily transferred that way. (Make any sense?)

It isn’t a true statement. Gay’s being married = change the definition of marriage. Yes, I’m fundamental and proud of it. AND we don’t cry foul every time someone wants to do something different.

I have a right to believe that marriage is sacred, holy and the definition is not to be changed because someone thinks it ought to be. What gives them the right to be upset and intolerant of my beliefs? They want tolerance but give none? Hypocrisy! Tolerate gays? Sure. Love them? Sure. Allow them to force their theological changes on me? No way.

Saying they are getting married is a complete misunderstanding of the sanctity of marriage, the purpose of family and spouse. They can have their own religion that ignore my beliefs, and make their own biologically unsound decisions that goes again how many billion years of evolution and not choose to pass on their genes and infect eachother with incurable diseases—and thats fine. Straight people do stupid stuff like that all the time—and when they do, we try to tolerate that too. However, it is logically backwards to say that I must tolerate their beliefs and not say that they must tolerate mine. Who wins when to beliefs are polar opposites? To demand that one party is allowed to force their beliefs on someone else is heavily biased. Marriage is a religious belief. Police are investigating whether an independent federal candidate committed a hate crime by telling high school students homosexuals should be executed.

David Popescu was invited to participate in a federal candidates' discussion at Sudbury Secondary School on Tuesday. He made the comment after a student asked his opinion of gay marriage.

Within hours, the Greater Sudbury Police Service said they were investigating.

"We are actively conducting a criminal investigation in this matter," deputy police chief Frank Elsner said.

The police service plans to share its evidence with the provincial Attorney General's office, which will provide direction on whether or not a criminal charge is warranted. More than 200 students gathered in the school's auditorium to hear candidates from the NDP, Liberal Party and the First Peoples National Party.

Popescu introduced himself with a public prayer, blaming environmental damage and economic unrest on the wickedness of society. His comments were met with silence as some students grimaced and shifted in their seats.

Near the end of the more than two-hour event, students were invited to ask the candidates questions. As a long line of pupils waited to speak, Popescu told a young female student who asked about stem cell research that, "God would hurt" those who had an abortion.

The crowd jeered and many rose to their feet in protest after Popescu answered another teenager's question on gay marriage.

During a telephone interview later in the day, Popescu reasserted his view.

"A young man asked me what I think of homosexual marriages and I said I think homosexuals should be executed," he said. "My whole reason for running is the Bible and the Bible couldn't be more clear on that point."

The general rule is that discrimination is allowed. We discriminate every day when we change TV channels, buy one brand of soap over another at the supermarket, or choose friends. Certain exceptions to the general rule of allowing discrimination have been made. One exception is for "immutable characteristics", for characteristics one cannot change, like race or gender. Another exception has been made for religion since our country was founded on religious freedom and it is enshrined in our Constitution.

Homosexuality is not immutable like race or gender. Homosexuality is, by definition, a behavior. You are not a homosexual until you engage in a homosexual act. Liberals have created the term "sexual orientation" which is a meaningless phrase, a political euphemism, as if one's sexual urge is fixed at birth, like a board game wheel, in any one direction: a man, a woman, a dog, a vase. The best science can say at the moment is that a propensity for homosexuality is genetically inherited by some people. Then, environmental factors, such as overpopulation, work to catalyze homosexual behavior.

People should be judged by their behavior. Therefore, discrimination against homosexuality should be allowed. Churches should be allowed to discourage it. Children should not be taught it. Private groups and individuals should be allowed to exclude people who engage in that behavior. However, I believe it is morally wrong to discriminate against any individual based on that individual's group classification. This applies to homosexuals, cops, or even yuppies. But this would not make a practical law.

The purpose of marriage is procreation (but, it is not a requirement). Homosexuals cannot procreate

[About nudists in Seattle.]

I live in Seattle about 5 blocks from where that event took place... this is in a neighborhood called Capitol Hill which is one of the biggest homosexual communities on the west coast and is an extremely liberal neighborhood (the only reason I live here is because of school) so it doesn't surprise me at all. All those nudists were probably homosexuals.
