“You people can say I’m heartless and cold for saying these women had it coming, but frankly, I believe in the Bible”
Do you? I’m certainly not a Christian but I feel I know a few verses of scripture that seem to disagree with you.
4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. … 7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her… 10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. (John 8:4-11)
If even Jesus doesn’t command death for women who were supposedly caught in the midst of adultery, with witnesses… who are YOU to call for that punishment for women you’ve never met and have no evidence against?
Let me give you a few more.
Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. (Matthew 7:1-2)
There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another? (James 4:12)
Those are the gospels, supposedly the closest we get to real instructions from Jesus. But if you aren’t satisfied there, I’ve got some instructions from good old Paul too.
Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? To his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. (Romans 14:4)
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest you also be tempted. (Galatians 6:1)
So, taking instruction from the apostles and Big J himself… at best you are to gently minister to sinners, and at worst you are to mind your own fucking business and let God sort it out at the end.
