Honestly, I wish, wish, WISH I could care more at this point. And it IS terrible what happened to those who died, truly. Especially news of that children’s camp that was hit. But considering Texas is a MAGA stronghold AND they CHOSE to vote for corrupt morons who cut budgets on things they needed to survive this, I really have a lot of difficulty still bringing up sufficient empathy for those people.

Maybe it makes me a bad person, and I am ashamed of that; but there’s only so much empathy fatigue a person can take in a short amount of time. I honestly don’t get it, what’s even the POINT of slashing the government budgets to near nonexistence so much? It’s only increasing unemployment and preventing the government agencies from getting ANYTHING done anymore, no matter how essential. Yes, I know that part of Trump’s campaign promises were to reduce spending, but at this level it does not benefit anyone anymore.

The ONLY thing I can think of is that Trump is intentionally trying to destroy the Government completely so that there is nobody left in the USA to contest his autocratic rule anymore. So that Trump IS the Government. Which I grant isn’t beyond him to do, but you’d think at least some of his staff would realize how that “plan” would implode spectactularly…
