I have found many of the problems children have to be rooted in a poor or absent parental relationship, same sex attraction or a lack of interest in heterosexual relationships being just some of the possible negative outcomes. Indeed, if unhealthy developmental outcome regarding any number of mental health and substance abuse issues is rooted in unhealthy parental relationships, then why would we expect the development of same sex attraction to be any different in origin. Once we understand the importance of parental relationships in human development, we would look to these experiences when seeking the roots of all developmental outcomes, including sexual orientation.

If two opposite sex parents are necessary to the raising of healthy children, how ironic, then, is the position held by proponents of same sex marriage that they can do the same when in fact they themselves are living out the negative consequences of not having had healthy relationships with two biological parents. They now wish to impose the very same deficits on the next generation of children, and then to declare this arrangement "healthy."

Does that make any sense?

Doug Mainwaring #fundie christianpost.com

The benefits of intact biological families were emphasized on a "Building a Marriage Culture" panel at the National Review Institute's 2013 Summit, "The Future of Conservatism." One of the panelists, Doug Mainwaring, spoke of his personal experience as a gay man who came to realize that his own children need both a mother and a father.

"For a long time I thought, if I could just find the right partner, we could raise my kids together, but it became increasingly apparent to me, even if I found somebody else exactly like me, who loved my kids as much as I do, there would still be a gaping hole in their lives because they need a mom," Mainwaring, co-founder of National Capital Tea Party Patriots, said.

Mainwaring is now living with his ex-wife so they can co-parent their two teenaged sons.

"I don't want to see children being engineered for same-sex couples where there is either a mom missing or a dad missing," Mainwaring explained. "Somebody needs to stand up for the rights and needs of children in an age when the selfishness of adults seems to be trumping those rights."

Mainwaring receives many surprised reactions when he explains that he is both gay and a conservative. Someone asked him once, "You're gay, how can you be a conservative?"

The audience laughed and clapped as he recalled his reply: "You're an adult, you have children, how can you be a liberal?"

Rev. Mark Creech #fundie christianpost.com

Ah, equality and love, who could possibly be against these? Certainly only haters, bigots and religious extremists would oppose or stifle their advancement in the cause for gay marriage. Yet, it's highly doubtful that even homosexual activists really believe what they so vigorously applauded in the President's speech – the belief that "if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well."
...
No one who is thoughtful can possibly believe that something as unnatural as the act of a man placing that part of his body which was designed to project life into that part of another man's body meant to expel death could possibly be a healthy lifestyle under any circumstances.
...
Marriage has never simply been about satisfying the emotions of two people. Instead, it's conventionally been about the greater good of mankind. The value of same-sex relationships cannot accurately be said to have matching worth as that of one man and one woman committed to each other for life. And the reason the standard in America has long been in favor of traditional marriage is because no other relationship can demonstrate that it truly is in the best interest of advancing the public good.

But from a biblical perspective, MacArthur maintained that the protesters are in violation of the biblical command to "submit to the powers that be because they're ordained of God."

Examining the psychology of atheism, Spiegel cites Paul C. Vitz who revealed a link between atheism and fatherlessness...

"It appears that the psychological fallout from a defective father must be combined with rebellion – a persistent immoral response of some sort, such as resentment, hatred, vanity, unforgiveness, or abject pride. And when that rebellion is deep or protracted enough, atheism results," Spiegel explains.

"Most people equate atheism with intellectualism," explained Comfort in a statement, "but it's actually an intellectual embarrassment. [A proposal to solve the problem of anti-gay bullying in schools.]

Maybe the parents of homosexual kids that are being bullied need to pull their kids out of school and home school them. The kids would get a better education plus they won't be bullied any more. If the parents are not able to do that then maybe they need to form a school for homosexuals. Perhaps the parents of homosexuals can ban together and home school the kids together. But if a parent's kid is a homosexual and is being bullied then some of the blame falls on the parents for the actions and sometimes destructive action the homo kids takes because of it. Just bringing it to the attention of the school administrators isn't enough.

Kids are cruel and they will bully anyone they think are either odd, weak or inferior. This has been going on since the beginning of time and it won't change.

Homosexuals are viewed as weak and inferior. They are going to be picked on. No amount of education is going to change that. Bullying comes from the heart. One needs to change the heart of a person before that person will change. Only Jesus can do that. Some can change w/o Jesus, though, but but most will not.

It's funny-the atheists insist on utilizing their rights to have no religion, and their rights of freedom of speech and freedom of expression to convey their message, but they miss in the Constitution that we have been endowed by our CREATOR with certain unalienable rights-where do they think our rights and freedoms originate? If not God, then nthey are not rights, but priviledges GRANTED by the state, which can then be taken away at will by those granting them.

[Regarding a bill proposed, and shelved, in Connecticut.]

If I understand this right the gays want the state and federal government to recognize domestic partnerships. I think where the real anger with them lies is they want the state and federal government to equate the domestic partnerships with marriage between and a man and a women. The gays already have the legal right to have a domestic partnership so, the question is what are they actually wanting. Is it that they say want the benefits and privileges that come with marriage, is that the real issue? Tax purpose wise marriage doesn't have any benefit, as a matter of fact the tax burden on married people is greater than that of those single or living together. There are some employee benefits such carrying a spouse on group insurance plan, health and life. In the states where homosexuals unions have been made legal, do they declare at the time of the union which is the acting male figure and female figure on the license so the judge knows who to assign alimony payments in case of divorce? No I think the main reason for the push for the change in a 220 year old law is to desecrate the marriage institution because it is ordained by God, just as every other God honoring thing is under attack in America today.
Offenses are sure to come but woe unto those who they come by.

A religious argument:
"My lover and I are in a monogamous relationship, and we truly love each other. That can't be wrong!"

This argument is misleading in that it assumes love sanctifies a relationship. It is hard these days to say love is not the final standard for right and wrong. Love is nice, after all; In our culture, it has been nearly deified as something so intense ans beautiful, it justifies almost anything done in its name. Love, in and of itself, does not make a relationship right. In fact, contrary to the touchy-feeling wisdom of this times, love is not always such a good thing.

Love can, according to Jesus, interfere with GOd's plan for an individual. He warns His followers that love for anyone, no matter how legitimate the relationship, becomes sin when it surpasses our love for Him (Matt 10:37). King Solomon, in a similar vein, loved his foreign wives. Problem was, they turned his heart away from GOd (1 kings11:3-4) In his case, love became a snare. Love is not enough to justify a relationship..Two men or two woman may be in love, pledging fidelity to each other and live as happily as any married heterosexual couple, but again, that will not, of itself, justify a homosexual relationship. Scriptures places boundaries on human relationships, offering no compromise, even if love is present and desires to cross those boundaries. If a form of sexual relating is wrong, it remains wrong no mater what degree of love goes along with it.

Tom Holladay #fundie christianpost.com

Physical abuse by one’s spouse is not a biblical reason for divorce, says a pastor at Saddleback Church in southern California.

Tom Holladay, teaching pastor at the megachurch founded by best-selling author Rick Warren, says the Bible only gives two cases where divorce is acceptable: abandonment and a physical affair.

“I wish there were a third in Scripture having been involved as a pastor with situations of abuse," Holladay said in an audio clip posted on Saddleback Church’s Web site. "There is something in me that wishes there were a Bible verse that says, 'If they abuse you in this-and-such kind of way, then you have a right to leave them.'"

Physical abuse, he defined, is someone “literally” beating another person up regularly.

"I don't mean they grab you once. I mean they've made a habit of beating you regularly,” he clarified.

But while Holladay believes divorce is not a biblical option in cases of domestic violence, he strongly recommends the couple to separate. During the separation, the couple should undergo counseling and try to mend the marriage, he said.

“Separation combined with counseling has been proven to provide healing in people’s lives,” the pastor said, noting that his church, Saddleback, offers such a program.

“There is no where in the Bible that says you should put up with abuse,” he emphasized. There is no where that says it is an “attitude of submission to let someone abuse you.”

It is logical to think that divorce will offer an escape from the pain, the pastor acknowledged, but in reality it doesn’t. The pain of a broken marriage continues for the rest of a person’s life.

After a divorce, there is an “immediate release” from pain and people can think that freedom and joy are coming back into their life. But in the long term, the pain recurs every time the two former spouses deal with the children or communicate. And even events in a new marriage can trigger painful memories.

Holladay recommends instead of the “short-term solution” of a divorce that will involve long-term pain, people should endure “short-term pain” and find “God’s solution” for “long-term gain.”

Tom Holladay #fundie christianpost.com

[Response to an article about Rick Warren's Saddleback Church teaching that domestic violence is no reason for divorce.]

That this article received so many comments with such a variety of views is evidence of the deep depth of sin in our society on this issue. The Bible is clear on the subject, but Biblical views of divorce are largely ignored in favor of the putrid values of modern society, "common sense" which is by definition very common and ungodly, political correctness, and selfish greed. What God gave us for our benefit, marriage, we have used to hurt ourselves and others by not abiding by the Biblical mandate, and as a society, not meaning what we say when we say "until death do us part."

Buckle your seatbelts, Christians this is sure to be a bumpy ride! As Americans become further deluded by the progressive's agenda presented so often, we will see every biased and ridiculous argument used to further unhinge this country from the Judeo Christian God and sound ethic and more and more toward embracing a lesser civilization.

We will see calamity when everyone does 'what is right in his own eyes' disregarding their neighbor to indulge their 'rights' and will be savage in their contempt for anything good.

According to the Bible this must take place before this world system will come to an abrupt end when Jesus Christ returns. As Christians we must pray but also give voice to God's standard of Righteousness as long as the public square is still available for debate against popular thinking; we cannot change the world but to be light and salt in it for as long as Christ tarries.

One of the best ways to keep focused on God is to run to Him in prayer whenever you feel stressors pressing in on you. Another thing that can help in tough times is to memorize some key Bible verses that speak directly to the whole area of feeling stressed out. Check out this link to find some verses to help you whenever you feel anxiety overwhelming you. Pick out one or two key verses that really speak to you about God’s promises and memorized them.

Then when anxiety comes crashing in, mentally and emotionally lift your anxiety up to God and give it to Him. Ask for His help and His comfort. As Jesus followers, learning to lean on God and cling to Him is a road that takes a lifetime, but He is always there to hear our prayers and surround us with His presence.

But what about your friends who don’t know Jesus? How can you help them face a stressful, uncertain future? By introducing them to your friend and comforter—Jesus. So as you talk about HSM 3 with your friends, amp up the conversation and turn the talk to spiritual things. Here are few ideas to get you started:

• Talk with your friends about what kinds of things each of you fears about the future. What punches your buttons and sends you spinning? Big decisions? Relationship drama? Money woes? • Do you feel like you live in an uncertain world? What is your source of stability? Family? Friends? Faith? Finances? • Ask your friends how they deal with anxiety when they’re stressed about the future? Listen, then share honestly how God is a source of strength and peace for you when you’re stressed. • Have you experienced the drama of a long-term relationship break-up? Whether it’s something like your parents’ divorce or a romantic smash-up, it hurts when people we care about are no longer in our day-to-day lives. Share God’s promise to “never leave us or forsake us” is real in your life.

Try using HSM 3 as a vehicle to talk to your friends about the best long-term relationship of all. When you know the One who holds the future, the future’s not as overwhelming!

The staff at Divine Mercy Care Pharmacy #fundie christianpost.com

[Excerpt from article about a new "pro-life" pharmacy.]

CHANTILLY, Va. – A new drug store at a Virginia strip mall is putting its faith in an unconventional business plan: No candy. No sodas. And no birth control. Divine Mercy Care Pharmacy is among at least seven pharmacies across the nation that are refusing as a matter of faith to sell contraceptives of any kind, even if a person has a prescription.

States across the country have been wrestling with the issue of pharmacists who refuse on religious grounds to dispense birth control or morning-after pills, and some have enacted laws requiring drug stores to fill the prescriptions.

In Virginia, though, pharmacists can turn away any prescription for any reason.

"I am grateful to be able to practice," pharmacy manager Robert Semler said, "where my conscience will never be violated and my faith does not have to be checked at the door each morning."

Semler ran a similar pharmacy before opening the new store, which is not far from Dulles International Airport. The store only sells items that are health-related, including vitamins, skin care products and over-the-counter medications.

On Tuesday, the pharmacy celebrated a blessing from Arlington Bishop Paul S. Loverde. While Divine Mercy Care is not affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church, it is guided by church teachings on sexuality, which forbid any form of artificial contraception, including morning-after pills, condoms and birth control pills, a common prescription used by millions of women in the U.S.

"This pharmacy is a vibrant example of our Holy Father's charge to all of us to wear our faith in the public square," said Loverde, who sprinkled holy water on the shelves stocked with painkillers and acne treatments. "It will allow families to shop in an environment where their faith is not compromised."

Mike, I'm going to suggest that you are not a war veteran. If you were, you would understand that there is a term called collateral damage. This means that while the bombs were not "targeting" civilians in the area of a battlefield, there were civilian casualties. For that reason our commanders in the field are very careful not to bomb areas with heavy civilian populations...even if there are strategic enemy commanders in the areas. If they did bomb such areas in order to caqrry out the objective of killing or capturing an important enemy operative, they would be court-martialed for disobeying orders. Why? Because we value the lives of the innocent! The collateral damage your homosexual campaigning inflicts is detrimental to the well being of innocent children (all of which are straight until persuaded otherwise!). Though you are passionate in your struggle for acceptance in the eyes of this nation, you must understand that your open defiance of God's Word will only lead to damage on all fronts of your battles. It is a perfect lose-lose scenario. Each child whose mind you inflict with confusion and questioning of his/her own sexuality you will give an account to God for. The innocent are strictly OFF LIMITS for you. Unfortunately, the nature of your self-inflicted condition desensitizes your heart to the needs of others. I would say 'may God have mercy on those who knowingly cause suffering in the lives of children, but I kinow the Word of God that says, "it would be worse for them than putting a millstone around their neck and throwing them into the sea." For the sake of the next generation, please restrict the living out of your chosen lifestyle to private areas far from innocent eyes.

Mike, There you go again...of course you can't see that your sexual preference, when paraded in the face of Bible-believing people, will have an ambiguous affect on impressionable children. You have said that it is what children are already "curious" about. You don't see that when Bible-believing parents teach their children that God forbids homosexuality and ultimately destroys homosexuals (re: Sodom & Gomorrah, they are following God's instruction to raise their children in the 'fear and admonition of God.' After their parents have exercised their spiritual duty, someone like you comes along and infers to them (from the position of an authority figure/techer) that their parents are wrong. The fact that you think you are right to "re-educate them" in accordance with your perverted views of sexuality reveals the intent of your heart. You are comfortable turn ing them from the teaching of their parents, their churches, and even God Himself. Please either remove yourself from the profession that tempts you to channel your perversion into their innocent minds, or restrain yourself from inflicting confusion instead of promoting academic education. Please exhibit the kind of mercy on others that you claim to have received from the Lord.

[From an article about Stephen Baldwin's speech at the Values Voter Summit.]

He denounced the entertainment industry for projecting evil messages that are “terrorizing our culture.”

As an example, he pointed to the sexually provocative TV show “Gossip Girl,” which reviews have described as “mind-blowingly inappropriate,” “very bad for you,” and “every parent’s nightmare.”

However, it was one of the show’s marketing posters that pushed him over the edge. The photo had a young male and female character having sex with the bold letters “OMFG” underneath.

“I’m from Hollywood,” Baldwin said. “I’ve been blessed in my career, but I’m telling you, who I am today when Hollywood uses the ‘F’ word in front of my God I’m not going to put up with that anymore,” he declared angrily.

He invited those at the Summit to join him in the fight against the “dark entertainment world.”

“I need some help, people,” Baldwin said.

He ended by declaring with a fighting spirit, “I look forward to the future to continuing to kick some butts for the Kingdom of the Lord.”

[In response to an article about Russell Brand's purity ring/Jonas Brothers jokes at the MTV Video Music Awards.]

Steve,
It might be normal for unmarried people to have sex with their "partner", but it is outside of God's law. "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.-Prov. 14" The bottom line is that when we adjust the law of God to our own preferences, we are basically becoming a law unto ourselves. Why not go all the way and just admit you think you are god. That's what you do when you decide to pick and choose what is right and wrong. Forget all the consequences of sex outside of covenant marriage. The fact is it's sin against a holy God. It's rebellion. Jesus said "Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven."

Oh no Igh, I know all too well about how to keep my daughter away from that lifestyle. Let's give a little personal background here:

When I was in college I made several mistakes. One of those included unmarried sex which resulted in an unwanted pregnancy. Well, to try and make things right, even with a struggling relationship at the time, I married her so that my child could be raised with both her mother and father.

After 2 years of marriage she decided she was going to have an affair with another woman. She took my child, my car, and my life away from me. With the grace of God I managed to graduate from college that summer and went to work for a company in my home town. Shortly thereafter I filed for divorce. Almost a year and $15K later I won custody of my daughter. I fought hard to keep my daughter out of the lifestyle her mother had choosen to live and God was on my side! Praise God for that.

Unfortunately she has to stay with her homosexual mom every other weekend. I will continue to teach her about Jesus Christ and pray that I can lay a good foundation so that she will not be overcome by the gay agenda.

[In response to an article about the New York State Supreme Court tossing out a challenge to the new law recognizing same-sex marriages from out of state. Yes, a second. It was too "good" to pass up.]

dont forget when you give gays there 'rights' and stop fighting for the Lord. they will want to teach sunday school, sit in womens dresses next to you, and excuse themselves to use the 'ladies room' at the same time your daughter is in it. So..... if you want to see two men hugging and kissing in your pews and the church picnics, asking for donations to undergo sex change operations, having 'gay single dances' at your church, or how about this asking you to boycott the boy scouts till they admit gay leaders etc... You open the doors to a whole lot and this is only the beginning for them.

"Imagine No Religion". I did that. I saw a world full of sexual perversion, debauchery, anarchy, murder, etc, etc....
Made me shudder. Thank God for Christianity that is the last deterent from such a world.

[On the alleged evils of church promotions involving gas buydowns, free gas cards, etc.]

"He called the gas promotions in general 'a clever tool.' 'There are a lot of worse things that people can be doing in life than getting people to come to church'"

I agree, such as offering 'free prescription medication', now that's just enticing people to come. Oh the desperation of a crossless church without Christ. A church where biblical standards have been, all but by name, been thrown out. A church who's rule of measure is Heathendom!

Oh the sore tides of judgement are rolling in! Any church who's built their foundations on the sands of Heathendom will be washed away in the sea of the kingdom of Antichrist. Repent, therefore or perish!

[This was under an article about the Guadalupe Benitez/"California lesbian insemination" case, but you'll see DP kinda went off on a tangent.]

"homosexuality is the mark of a people who have rejected the revelation of God that is seen all around them."

In the computer world we call it a worm. It invades the system and then just works it's way through until nothing works right anymore. This is why homosexuals have such a difficult time seeing what is plainly written in the Bible. This includes several places in the new covenant. Eventually, the system no longer recognizes the rules by which it operates and then does what it wants. When unchecked a really bad worm will leave the computer completely unable to function until it is wiped clean and a new OS is installed. However, ALL traces of what was on the drive and in the CMOS (PRAM) have to be completely wiped. No trace can remain or it will just grow back. Not even a question of if any part was OK can remain. Everything has to go and be reinstalled or it just won't work.

This is the real need of the lost. First, they have to accept the Bible when it says something is wrong. Otherwise, it's like talking to a very confused machine that keeps giving the same obviously non sequitur answer.

i'd hate to sound stupid

but gender neutrality? that is an absolute lie. The only reason why gay people have lust towards one another is because the other has something they dont, one will be the man, the other will be the woman, NO EXCEPTIONS.

this makes me laugh so hard sometimes. Hallmark is going to burn for this!
