““Most unsaved people don't know they need rescuing!”
It’s just kinda sus that the only people who can save me from sin are the people who are telling that i’m a sinner, subject to judgment from someone i’ve never seen or heard, just second- or eigth-hand stories about his anger.
I mean, if i guy knocked on your door and said your toilet was infested with shit-weasels ONLY HE could detect, and ONLY HE could save you from them, you’d be a little suspicious, right?
"The Bible teaches that the unbeliever doesn't know God or even want to know God!”
Not true, Bananajerk. My atheism came from my actual and sincere search for God. But all i got were contradictory testimonies, hate, pomposity, anger, self-serving lies, and really, really bad science. None of it any better than the church i left in search of God.
But, you know, you can only open so many boxes before you begin to think they’re all empty.
"That gives it a little scarier twist!”
Well, it’s not true, so, yeah, lies are scary. Booga-booga!
“ However, in witnessing, you may meet that one who is waiting and wanting to hear the Gospel, not knowing what they need, just knowing they need something!” Linda Bjork Anglin”
It’s not that i WANT to hear the gospel. Heard it. I want a reason to think it’s not total bullshit.
“There’s an old saying, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink.” It’s not true. If you salt the horse’s oats, he will suddenly want to drink.”
So, you think you can trick me into the gospel? G’head, Ray-ray. Try your bestest.
“This sinful world needs righteousness, but it has about as much desire for it as a four year old boy has for the world “bath.””
Thing is, we disagree one what ‘righteousness’ is. Putting the trappings of Christainity in a classroom, for example, while denying their education if they owe money for lunch, is not what Jesus taught, but what states are doing in the name of Jesus.
“The night of my salvation I has no desire for righteousness. None. But God’s Law put salt on my tongue. I read these words, “You have heard it said by them of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’” I nodded in affirmation. Made sense. Cool. No problem. But then I read, “But I say to you that whoever looks upon a woman to lust for her has committed adultery already with her in his heart.” I was suddenly horrified, saw my wicked heart and the impending wrath, and immediately cried, “What must I do to be made ‘right’?” I began to thirst for “righteousness.” This happened in a moment of time.”
Holy crap. Your salvation came from guilt over your natural drives?
You’re dumber than i thought.
“So don’t go around looking for people who are wanting to hear the gospel, because they are few and far between. Instead, do what Jesus did in Mark 10:17 and Paul did in Romans 2, and use the moral Law to put salt on the tongue of sin-loving, unconcerned sinners.”
Ray says if your arguments fail, then use desperation and fear. Because someone saved out of fear will NEVER calm down and reconsider.
"The Law will make them thirst for righteousness, and embrace the gospel like a drowning man grabs a life-saver.”
Not likely. People are using THEIR versions of the Law to kill people right now. I don’t want to sign on with them for any reason.
