I do this off the grid August thing where I literally lock my phone in the safe and I don’t look at any news or television; I’m completely offline and I really disappear and I try to let my brain reset. And two years ago when I did it, one of the thoughts that I kept having sort of in my peace was that: I’m not an atheist. And I came back and I said it in a very casual way, and I just did this live stream where I just sort of said it very flippantly, that I just don’t like the word atheist – it doesn’t fit what I believe. I do believe in something else, even if I can’t completely articulate what it is. I think Jordan (Peterson) has gone a long way toward articulating the type of thing that I believe in.

Jordan and I did about 110 stops in one calendar year and about 20 countries – it was pretty amazing – and when you spend that kind of time listening to a true innovative thinker – I mean, truly the guy that I think is the world’s most important public philosopher, let’s say – talking about his biblical lectures and talking about his perspective on life, and that there has to be a bedrock of something that is real and true, outside of us. And then how he relates that through the biblical stories – it moved me; it moved me over the course of the year that we did this together. So, I would say I’m secular basically in my life, but I definitely in the last year have found that there has to be something outside of us; the rest of this makes no sense.

There is no evidence whatsoever that women are profoundly disturbed by a police state, to the contrary, they demand it on a regular basis! Women are delighted when smoking is banned, they weep tears of joy when repressive gun control is enacted and they are happy to be strip-searched at the airport and halted at mandatory late-night traffic stops. The reason is that most women are afraid of liberty and prefer Recht und Ordnung in the name of security; the popularity of the Nazis with women, the suffragettes' embrace of Fascism and the fact that there are no Founding Mothers are not random accidents of history.

The only reason the right-to-life movement hasn't managed to win over women the way MADD and DARE have is because many women are more afraid of having a baby than of the physical repercussions of having an abortion. They couldn't be less concerned about Cedarford's "anti-abortion police state", and if one were to make women as fearful of abortion as they are of crime, drunk drivers, drugs and terrorism, they'd embrace that police state with open arms.

Despite the endless subtle propaganda against it, the past was not a terrible time. It did not have the technology we have now, or the egalitarian empowerment, and as a result it was less encumbered with the pretense of the individual and the demands of technology. You did not have large discount stores, but then again, you didn't spend time in cars driving to them or waiting in line while the credit card machine malfunctions (all technology seems to work great "on paper" but when deployed in real life, screw up constantly). If you declared that you were a caprisexual and wanted to spend the rest of your life making love to goats, they threw you out of your town and you had to find a new place to settle, such as the free-for-all republics of North Africa and the Middle East. On the other hand, you did not have one hand tied down in every decision because doing the right thing would offend - someone.

To me, at this point, the most important thing is: reality. Since I live in a civilization, and in civilization something is only "real" if people agree it is so, I must modify this to include my fellow citizens actually recognizing this reality: The best thing in the world would be a sane human world, well-adapted to nature and not opposed to it in some paranoiac vision of mankind versus his environment. This realistic society would exist in contrast to the present society, which is fed on economic and social and religious illusion, and would necessarily replace it if brought about, but since society as it is fails in every significant way (although money is still being made, and there's still lots of "kwality" TV), that would be no loss. Further, most people being of a mundane nature would not recognize this society, but the loss of anyone who cannot see the importance of change toward something radically more realistic is not actually a loss; we just say "it's a loss" to make their family feel better - until we can shoot them.

All that I've read, and seen through history, points toward a feudal apolitical society as the height of humankind's adaptivity to nature; apolitical in this case means that you don't have to convince other people en masse of the truth, nor keep up image, but you take a vision couched in knowledge of an accurate adaptation to your environment, and show it to the wisest people in society, and they act on it, commanding others to do the same - even if they object, and their personal profit does not increase, nor their stature, but their workload does. Right is right, and truth is truth; this isn't to say I favor some abstract absolute to which we refer in deference in every situation, but that I think truth is found in any situation and commands action. Rubbery monster attacking city? Call out the troops - and so on.

New Texas law opens up abortion bounty hunting

An antiabortion law in Texas will soon allow any U.S. citizen to sue Texas-based abortion clinics, doctors, and anyone who aids in an abortion. If successful, the petitioner, who does not have to reside in Texas, will receive an $10,000 award and the cost for attorney’s fees. Pro-choice advocates worry that this cash prize may create a new cottage industry of aggressive antiabortion bounty hunters. 

The provision, which passed the Texas state legislature this spring, is part of a larger antiabortion bill which will ban all abortions after a doctor detects a fetal heartbeat, usually around the six-week mark.

The law is set to take effect on Sept. 1, and lawyers for abortion clinics are unsure of how to rebuke it because the government isn’t the enforcing body. In the past, six-week bans in other states have all been eventually found unconstitutional as they’ve risen through the legal system. 

This “legal hack” could be a way to get around that.
 
Typically, governmental agencies shut down or challenge abortion clinics accused of breaking the law, and the clinics then have a way to challenge the constitutionality of the state law through the courts. By deputizing Americans to sue on their own, clinics and doctors can no longer employ that method.
