Suppose that the AC and his minions are ready and waiting for the rapture. As soon as it is apparent that it's happened, he launches about 1/2 dozen EMP's over the U.S., Europe, and the Far East. Thus completely wiping out all communications around the globe.

The rapture happened, but as far as anyone who is left knows, they just can't locate some of their friends and family, and they just figure it's because they have no way to communicate. The plains and cars all crashed because all the electrical systems went out. There are no widespread reports of people vanishing because there is no way to widely communicate with one another. There's complete chaos, and as soon as some power is restored, just to organize things again, we can give out an ID tag for everyone that will at least allow them to buy some food. We'll just make a mark on your hand or forehead that has this handy barcode in it to facilitate getting by while everything has to be rebuilt. If you told the Katrina refugees they needed this mark to get some food, I doubt you would have gotten any argument, especially if they had no idea of the rapture or the mark, or anything else Biblical.

All the chaos that has just gone on, forces the return of the twelfth Imam, and the long awaited Jewish Messiah, who will make some supernatural appearance. Ta da, I'm here to save the day.

The people who would have the world 'doin' it' like jack rabbits would also have us believe that condoms are %100 effective in preventing the spread of disease and in preventing pregnancy. The TRUTH is that condoms are only about 30% effective in preventing pregnancy, so one must conclude thier efficacy in preventing the spread of diseases like HIV leave somthing to be desired.

The only sure fire method for a woman to avoid an unwanted pregnancy is to not have sex. The only sure fire way for a person to avoid contracting a sexually transmitted disease to not have high risk sexual contact. For most people, this means abstinance. It certainly means fidelity to marraige vows for the rest.

The morning after pill is very worrisome because it is death in a bottle - not just to a fetus, but very possibly for the woman taking the abortifacient. Abortion should never be a simple or easy or accessible choice for anyone. It needs to be entirely under the perview of REAL medical professionals in a traditional hospital setting with the oversite of an ethics commitee in place to determine if a pregnancy really IS a danger to the life of the mother, and real counselors in place to educate any woman in that position of the full spectrum of every choice available in said situation.

If we, as a society, had put as much money into figuring out a way to preserve a tiny fetus ex-utero and cryogenicaly store it to be implanted into an adoptive mother at some future date, we likely would have saved billions of lives already and not be in this cultural morass.
