Whenever people say we need "critical thinking", they always overlook that being able to workout plausibility in a claim is 100 percent a mathematical problem and really, to the non math literate people, "critical thinking" just means they want you to agree with them on politics and not actually be educated and wise enough to do things like calculate optimal budget spending, model physics and engineering to understand what inventions are and are not worth investing research into, and use statistics to predict return values of investing in ETF's vs gambling at a casino.

US President Donald Trump has signed an order that calls for fewer childhood vaccines and also recommends splitting the mumps, measles and rubella (MMR) shots

"Decades ago, children received only a small fraction of the vaccines required today," Trump said. "In those times, people were much healthier and of course the high rates of autism now observed did not exist"

The president has long cast doubt on the safety of MMR vaccines, but multiple studies have found no connection between the shots and autism

Medical experts have criticised the new order and said it could reduce vaccination rates and expose children to harmful diseases

The order also recommends that the number of childhood vaccines drop to 11 from the existing 18 recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)

Trump's order serves as guidance, not a mandate, since shots required for school attendance are set at the state level, rather than by the federal government

The immunisations recommended for all children under the order are for measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, Haemophilus influenzae type B, pneumococcal disease, human papillomavirus, and varicella or chicken pox

"We're reducing them," Trump said. "It's not only that you're doing fewer vaccines, or jabs, as they say, but you're doing them in a series of visits to the doctor"

The president suggested the MMR vaccine could be "quite lethal" if given at once. He compared it to pouring a bottle of soda into a child's body. According to the FDA, a single dose of MMR is 0.5ml

When a reporter asked for evidence of the "lethal" claim, Trump said: "What I've heard is that there are some people that say it is that way"

A 56-year-old resident of Minsk will stand trial under an article on denying the genocide of the Belarusian people. He attracted the attention of the Main Directorate for Combating Organised Crime and Corruption (HUBAZiK) after comments on the social network Threads

According to the case materials, in May 2025 the Minsk resident found a series of articles about the Great Patriotic War on Threads. He left several comments “denying the existence of Hitler’s Generalplan Ost as one of the stages of the genocide of the Belarusian people,” the Investigative Committee reports

The man was detained by HUBAZiK officers. During questioning, he explained that he had tried to find the original text of the document on the internet and, after failing to do so, concluded that Generalplan Ost had been invented by the Communist Party of the USSR. He stated that he was unaware of the version of the plan published in the public domain in the US National Archives and of the translation of comments and amendments to it in the National Archives of Belarus. The man also claimed that the actions of German troops toward Belarusian civilians were a response to the partisan movement and resistance

The Minsk resident has been charged under Part 1 of Article 130-2 of the Criminal Code (denial of the genocide of the Belarusian people in information posted on the global computer network Internet). He remains in custody

Alex Bevins, the manager at Uptown Café in Noblesville, Indiana, said it happened Saturday when a customer asked whether the restaurant was owned by Muslims. A host told the customer no.

The customer then said Muslims "scare" her, according to Bevins.

The comments were about a 15-year-old employee who wears a hijab, Bevins said.

Bevins said she eventually approached the customer after she paid and said the woman's comments were not welcome in the restaurant.

"I told her, 'We welcome everyone here except for your kind. So while we thank you for your past and present visit, this will be your last time dining with us. You're not welcome back.'"

The customer also claims she received hundreds of negative comments after posting her video online, including some she described as threatening. She alleges Bevins added to the harassment by posting about the incident and sharing her video online, writing "She perpetuated the harassment."

The country is debating whether the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is the new face of the Democrat Party. There are two impediments, however, to accurately discussing what the DSA is all about.

The first is that Americans are learning about DSA through the lens of the dominant media — what Rush Limbaugh often called “the drive-by media.” Largely missing is a balanced media source despite the almost universal use of the term “mainstream media” to describe the current collection of highly partisan and slanted journalists from whom most Americans get their news. While “mainstream” implies balanced and informative, most of the dominant media of today are neither.

The second impediment is an assumption that advocates of the DSA are simply against a “capitalist” system they associate with greed, and instead favor of what they consider a benign, compassionate “socialist” economy where stuff is largely free. Who doesn’t like free stuff? Capitalism, however, is not the villain. Without capital (funding), there would be no economy, free or state-run. The alternative is to go back to a barter system: I’ll paint your apartment, you give me wood for heating my house.

The issue, therefore, is not between capitalism and socialism. It is between free enterprise and economic liberty on the one hand and a state-run, often totalitarian, market on the other.

What can we expect? Commentator Ryan Mauro notes that New York City’s DSA Mayor Zohran Mamdani and “chaos” funder George Soros both admire Slavoj Zizek, whose In Defence of Lost Causes calls for the return of the French Revolution’s guillotine and what he calls “emancipatory terror.” The goal, it seems, is the destruction of the West, to be replaced with Stalinist communism. Apart from their projected multiple trillions of dollars in new government spending that they cannot pay for, the DSA foreign policy agenda is also scary. The DSA seems to be pushing a global intifada, an embrace of Hamas terrorism, a wholesale rejection of Israel, and on top of all that, “defunding” the US Department of Defense.

The goals of the former Soviet Union are still being pursued — not by the KGB or the Red Army but by DSA hucksters who sadly are nothing but suckers promising a false utopia to be built on the ruins of America.
