Unless you can find a trustworthy person to help you choose, I would avoid it. Just as there are many versions in English, there are different versions in French (and other languages). If you are not VERY careful, you'll end up in a bad version.
If English is your primary language, stick with the KJV.
By the way, there are people out there who are translating the KJV into other languages. Though the KJV is a perfect translation, translating the KJV into other languages (second generation translations) creates imperfect (in fact, flawed) translations.

I took deep breaths and said 'Actually, its not just a book, its God's book.' Right then i realised that wouldn't make any difference so i added 'If this was the Koran people was tearing up you wouldnt be so happy would you?' He rolled his eyes 'Thats different. The people of Venezuela, as a whole, are not evil. They are, however, being lead by a terrorist-friendly, America-hating dictator named Hugo Chavez. You may recall: this man came to the United Nations and railed on our great Christian nation and compared President Bush to Satan.
By allowing the advertisements, Fox News is directly supporting an enemy of the United States for the sake of a few dollars. I would like to ask you to contact the Fox News Channel and ask them to pull these advertisements. I would also like to ask you to covenant with me to not use the services of Citgo Stations.
I attempted to speak to someone in the Marketing department of FNC, and I was told that 'no-one was available to take a call'. I called at about 9:30 AM on Thursday morning. Obviously, that was a lie.

I know at one school nearby, in 9th grade, the history book is all about religion, there are pages upon pages of different religions, but a paragraph on Christianity. Basically they are givin the kids a choice on what they want to believe. My cousins mother in law is a high school teacher, and every morning she would give a devotional every morning, an thispunk rocker, who obviously didn't kno wat he believed went to th principles office an threw a fit about it, (prolly only b/c he was convicted of his sin and needed to get saved or get right) and the school board came to her..
Next morning, she said, we are gonna continue to have our devotions, an if you dont like it, leave.. WHOOO HOOO.... Go mrs. Linda!!!

I really could go on and on, but I will not. The bottom line is that the publik skools are failing in every way. Yes, there are some who train their children who do a poor job of it. I know some. They are in the minority of the homeschoolers. By contrast, those who excel in the publik skools are in the minority.
I will agree with you and Mrs. Debbie. There is an annoying spelling problem here. Other than the occasional typo or mistake, there are some who seem to use shorthand, or who just do not take the time and effort to try to spell correctly. This shows that they are lazy! It is also a very poor testimony. They need to do a better job with their spelling and grammar.

...we probably wouldn't exist. Think about it. If there was no God...what would be the point of developing the wide variety of emotions that humans have? I mean, our emotions, a lot of times, don't lend well to the survival of our species. People are thinkers that can choose not to have children, have only a few, take a few years break in between having children, etc.
An animal that is able to reproduce will always do so if given the chance - even if reproduction always results in death for the mother, father, or both!
If humans thought like animals, we'd all have a baby every year with the first available person regardless of circumstances because survival of the species is most important.
Of course God commands us to be fruitful and multiply but...well, if our complex emotions actually decrease our productivity as a species...what's the point? To make us closer to God! God gave us the gift of emotion (not that animals don't have emotions, but not like humans of course) to make humans - made in His image - distinctly separate from the other creatures of the Earth. On the other hand, the standardized tests (both placement and end-of-grade) are constantly being 'dumbed-down' so as to allow those in the public schools to feel like they are succeding. In the real world, many end up becomming people who do not have the common sense to get out of a city which is below sea level and in the path of a catagory 5 hurricane (New Orleans).
We have already addressed the Biblical admonshments from the Word of God to the parents to train their children. But then, if the Word of God admonishes you to do something, do you really care?
