Wow. This post answered one of my main questions: "If transitioning is terrible for your health, mentally and physically, why don't more people detransition/why are so many trans people so happy?"

They're addicts. Good God. It makes so much sense. They're getting frequent hits of the attention and validation they crave, and if it stops, they'll feel even worse than before.

Yesterday I was reading a TIM saying he couldn't trust a relationship with a bisexual woman, and found the idea of a relationship with a lesbian more "validating". And I didn't get it. You're getting to have sex with a woman who's going along with your trans delusion, what do you care if she likes both sexes?

But it makes sense now. It's not about fulfilling his sexual desire for women nearly as much as it is fulfilling his addiction to "being" a woman. That's what he really craves. And he can't get it if he knows on the back of his mind his girlfriend also likes men.

The idea that there are 'happy trans' people strikes me to be as much of a myth as the 'happy hooker' myth. Sure, there are people who have yet to experience the worst harms of it, and people who have convinced themselves that they're fine in order to not face the reality of it, but the foundations of either situation and the beliefs that lead them to be possible are harmful. Misogyny is at the heart of both.

It will be interesting indeed to see how and whether the Senate follows up on the bill. What remains absolutely clear is men have unquestionable physical advantages over women in sports. That’s why, until the Biden Administration began to support the Trans Superiority Narrative, men did not compete against men. It makes a mockery of the concept of fair competition. It’s also why there are weight classes in contact and strength competitions for men, and for women.

But it’s not just a matter of unfair performance advantages. At least one female high school volleyball player suffered brain damage from being spiked in the face by a trans player, and in the Olympics, a female boxer had to forfeit after being punched harder than she had ever been hit in her life by a man pretending to be a woman. The potential for serious injury or death is very real, which is why until schools, coaches and sports bodies lost their minds, men did not compete against women.

A never-mentioned fact is there is no parallel controversy over women pretending to be men competing in men’s sports. That’s because a mediocre female athlete can’t pretend to be male and immediately vault to the medal stand, quite the opposite. That fact of nature rather proves the point that men and women are very different, and trans women aren’t women, but guys pretending to be women.

If only I could have read this essay before my son was pushed off the sanity cliff by nefarious Planned Parenthood. That said, my husband and I tried with substantial effort to help our son escape from the poisonous gender cult tentacles when they first infected him as a teen. Likely curtailing more of his social media access may have helped. He was an excellent student often on his laptop working to achieve all A's, and we didn't suffienctly realize how utterly corrupting social media was/ is. I may always beat myself up about this regret. But in high school, my son went into remission from his "trans" obsession with the help his father and I did offer, and we thought we were out of these dark, treacherous woods. Unfortunately (a massive understatement as words to convey this horror are invaribly inadequate,) while he was sealed in his dorm room during his first semester at college in 2020 when the fear of COVID was peaking, the "trans" virus resurfaced to claim his mind, health and his potential, and simultaneously torpedoed the hearts of his parents, inflict loss on his clear-thinking sister, and destroy our once close family. As time in this psychological hell went on and on, I recognized the need to let go of short term hope as necessary to emerge from profound despair. But I need to allow long term hope that my son will somehow wake up. In reference to the title of today's lucid PITT essay, I also allow yearning for a "trans"-educated society to emerge and pummel the idiocy, indifference, virtue signaling, greed, and the cruelty of this evil cult back into the depths of hell where it burns to oblivion.

RE: Discussion: Is the tide really turning?

If there's one thing I've learned about "progressive" elites, it's that they're never wrong. Ever. That's a hard group of people to debate with.

And sadly, these people are all journalists, academics and politicians. They hold a lot of power. They create the narrative. They're failing a bit, but make no mistake, we are at a massive disadvantage. They have Google turning up biased search results for them. They have Wikipedia pretending to be non-partisan but pushing their agenda. They have nearly the entirety of the entertainment industry in their palm. Virtually every celebrity young kids enjoy is out there praising gender ideology.

This will not be a quick fix. And in the end, it will likely be conservatives and heterodox men who receive the credit for defeating gender ideology. A lot of the women involved will likely remain cancelled. No one will remember why, just that hating women is really fucking fun.

Sorry to be depressing, but I think anyone saying stuff like "it's over" is being unrealistic or overly optimistic. Powerful people don't like being defeated.

3. It creates a group of vulnerable and easily manipulated people who are medicalised for life. These people are cash cows for the pharmaceutical industry which makes the rich men even richer.

4. Womenhood is promoted as a commodity that can be bought and the pornified view of women as objects and fuck holes is promoted. The old stereotypes are back and we aren't even allowed the language to argue against it. This rips back many of our hard fought for rights and benefits all men in general. How can women fight for their abortion rights when they can't even call themselves women? How can survivors of rape and domestic abuse recover when they are forced to have a male key worker? How can a female inmate reform and rehabilitate when she is being raped and assaulted every night by her male cellmate?

The whole thing is a money making scam cult and a men's rights movement.

You brought up a point I wish I had mentioned about the MRA. The gender-identity view on women is very gender-essentialist; that women have specific traits and interests, and if a woman doesn't fit those, she must be a man or some weird non-binary thing. This is a thought that has been going through my brain for a while now, and I'm curious to know if anybody feels the same way.

Sometimes I believe that the current gender-identity movement has purposely infiltrated the current left-wing by way of controlled opposition. I have no evidence for this, but I do know that it was in part started for the interest of big money. Who, other than those who are in it for the money, benefits from this ideology? The left is now discredited for a lot of people because of them embracing this issue. If said controlled opposition could get people away from the left, they could get their way on other topics; say, climate change or abortion.

And I'm aware that I do sound crazy, but I can't shake the feeling that there's something going on behind the scenes. It's not just the Democratic establishment, it's extended to unrelated organizations; I've seen anti-war organizations bow down to the transgenders, something that ticks me off to no end. Of course, if this is true, it shows a certain level of cowardness from current Democrats that they've just let them in. There are other reasons why people are bowing to it, such as not wanting to get bullied for bucking the line. Still...it's very weird and I haven't found anything to back this up yet, but it's also tricky because there are a million possible explanations for this.

I spent some time this morning trying to distill down what TERFs want into something minimal and easy to communicate. Let me know if anything key here is missing.

There's nothing about kids or medicalization because I think the fourth point covers that. If women, lesbians and gays, parents, and detransitioners were unmuzzled, the medical crisis would end.

The fourth point also covers TIFs and female non-binaries. They're not a pressing concern for me, and just being able to talk openly about what's going on there will probably be enough.

1. Women are entitled to our own identity. Males claiming to be women are appropriating our identity.

2. Women’s rights, spaces, institutions, sports, quotas, and honors are for women only, not males claiming to be women/non-binary.

3. Males claiming to be women/non-binary must negotiate with other males for acceptance, space, and accommodations. Trans-identified male and male non-binary are recognized as variant male identities.

4. People have a right to publicly criticize trans ideology, pro-trans organizations, captured institutions, and trans advocates for sexism, misogyny, homophobia, and identity appropriation.

He was giddy explaining how excited he was to get thigh high boots finally and how they'd look. Now, how would he be tapped into that? Its not denying the holocaust to say that it was focussed primarily on the murder of Jews. That was the whole thing. Trans didnt even exist as a concept at the time. No Nazi laws mention trans. And its certainly not clear that if "trans" people were imprisoned/ murdered it was solely because of their "transness". One point I disagree with in the thread is the description of Einar Wegener as a "troubled patient". He was an AGP. What differentiates him from modern AGPs, asking for an uterus transplant, is that he got surgeons unscrupulous enough to actually attempt it.
