Careers get in the way of marriage and motherhood. As attacks against the Christian community have increased across the country, a pastor from Odisha’s Dhenkanal district was brutally assaulted, forced to chant Jai Sree Ram, and made to eat cow dung by members of the Bajrang Dal, his wife alleged.
The incident, which took place on January 4 (Sunday), came to light recently. Pastor Bipin Bihari Naik, along with his wife and a few others, was attending a prayer meeting at a house in Parjang village when a mob of around 40 people gathered outside.
Speaking to Maktoob, Vandana, Naik’s wife, who was present at the prayer meeting, said the mob asked Naik to come outside the house. When he told them he would do so after the prayer was completed, the mob forcibly entered the house.
“They started beating everyone inside the house. Besides us, there were seven families who were praying with us. My children and I managed to run out of the house and rushed through a narrow alley towards the nearest police station,” Vandana said.
Bipin, who was the main target, was not spared. According to Naik, he was dragged outside and beaten on every part of his body. He was continuously slapped and beaten with sticks by the crowd. Red sindoor was smeared all over his face, and a garland of slippers was placed around his neck.
Along with Bajrang Dal members and some villagers, Naik was dragged and paraded throughout the village. This continued for nearly two hours.
Meanwhile, Vandana was at the police station, pleading with officers to rescue her husband. “It was only after nearly two hours that the police reached the village,” she said.
Vandana added that despite her repeated requests, the police initially misled her, claiming there was no one in the village. However, when she insisted on accompanying them to the location, what they witnessed was horrific.
“My husband was tied to a Hanuman temple in the village. Both his hands were tied behind a rod. He was forced to consume cow dung and was bleeding badly. People were slapping him and forcing him to chant Jai Sree Ram,” she said.
However, the FIR accessed by Maktoob states that Naik was forced to drink drain water, while his wife repeated the claim that he was forced to consume cow dung.

Listen to God first!
Six thousand years ago God placed Adam in the garden. As a test of obedience, he placed two trees, the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Then God said to the first man Adam, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die” (Genesis 2:16–17).
God put before Adam the way of life and the way of death. Then God showed Adam he was alone (no animal was made in God’s image), so God made the first woman (Eve) from his side.
Now the devil in the form of a serpent came to Eve (Adam was with her) and tempted them to disobey God and eat the fruit they were told not to eat. Note we read in Genesis 3:6, “So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.”
Eve (and obviously Adam who was there) looked at the evidence—the fruit. It looked good. They decided to listen to the devil and interpret the evidence themselves and determined it was good for them to eat. But they should have remembered what God said and obeyed his Word and rejected the temptation to eat. Because Adam disobeyed, death came into the world.
It’s a reminder we should always listen to God first and judge what others are saying against God’s Word and not the other way round.
Today, so many of our Christian leaders/academics listen to what fallible man says about the origin of life and the universe, and they trust man’s interpretation of the evidence. It looks good to them. This last Thanksgiving I was visiting with my in-laws. During that visit I made this statement to my sister-in-law “Yes mam, I am a proud sexist!” Why would I say such a thing? Isn’t being a sexist inconsistent with Christian values?

In regard to my in-laws, as kind and as loving as my mother and father in-law are – they are feminists. My wife and her sister are actually on different sides of their parents on this issue. My wife’s sister is more feministic than her parents and my wife is less feministic than her parents. My wife will at least tell people she believes in male headship in the home and she tries to a certain degree to fight her own feminist tendencies. But it is extremely difficult for my wife because of the combination that she is very intelligent, strong willed and she was raised by parents who instilled feminist principles in her. So there are days when she full on gives into the dark side and goes full blown feminist on me. Those are the days when she says “you can’t tell me what to do – you are not my father”. Other days I can tell she is truly trying and waging a war against the dark side in her that she knows in her heart conflicts with the Bible and what God wants for her.
On the other hand, my wife’s sister is a completely different story. She fully embraces her dark side (aka feminist tendencies). Her sister is also a Christian and is actually very involved in her church. She believes in partnership marriage and that her husband does not have any more say in the marriage than she does. For a very brief time when she was on the verge of her second divorce she tried to embrace submission in order to save that marriage. But in the end the marriage still died and he divorced her.[…]

Many atheists love to believe they are superior beings. They think they're superior to Christians who believe in a God that permits all sorts of evil to happen in this world. For a case in point, there was a posting in a Facebook discussion group that was a graphic that had text that read:
You either have a God who sends child rapists to rape children or you have a God who simply watches and says: "When you're done I'm going to punish you".
If I could stop a person from raping a child, I would. That's the difference between me and your God.
The quote was attributed to Tracie Harris, from The Atheist Experience. Searching the net it looks like The Atheist Experience is an internet TV show. So Tracie Harris believes she is superior to the God of the Bible. (Of course she doesn't even believe in the God of the Bible, she just wants to embarrass Christians who do believe in the God of the Bible.)

102. One of our boys, David Gypsy, recently wrote me a very interesting letter about the origin of the Freemasons. He said there are three different kinds of Masons. One is the Scottish Rite, which is the one my Grandfather was a member of. It only has 33 degrees & the 33rd level is all the leaders. He got up to 32nd degree Mason & used to have the ring, knew the handshake & even tried it out on me. They call themselves Freemasons, & what they mean is they're supposedly free from the Catholic Church. And that's one reason my Grandfather joined, I'm sorry to say, because he was a real fighter against the Catholic Church. They were pretty antagonistic in his day & even tried to kill him.
103. I always thought the Freemasons were not too bad if my Grandfather was one, but boy oh boy, this study that David Gypsy did shows how Satanic some Masons are. He said he'd always been wondering how in the world the Antichrist could come out of both Russia & Memphis, Egypt. Then he discovered that everything about the Memphis Rite is related to Satanic worship & the worship of a coming dictator, & the headquarters of that religion--which is what it is--was in the Memphis, Egypt area. And although the whole city has vanished & there's nothing but a little tourist village there, it's still greatly revered by Egyptians--especially by members of the Memphis Rite Masons.
