Modern science is no longer a practice, but a religious belief system. Many scientific methods and theories have been defeated and proven wrong, such as carbon 14 dating, macro-evolution, darwinism, and fossilization time requirements. However, if a professor comes out and says that, he will lose his pension, tenure and good standing in the scientific community, and be labeled a wacko. One cannot advance in science without discovering God, if even by accident. I live in Colorado, and there is evidence of Noah's flood everywhere. You can still find sea shells in the mountains. You can also find signs of water damage and erosion up there as well. My wife lived in a farming community for most of her life, and she told me about the many sea shells her and her siblings would find in the corn field. The funny thing is, when clams die, their mouths open. These are all closed, meaning they died in an aquatic event that happened very quickly and violently, like say...a worldwide cataclysmic flood.
Science has long known about all that the bible has been telling us. Bones of giants are found all over the world all the time. You never hear about it, because if a scientist announces this type of discovery, it supports what the bible says about there being giants in ancient times, and they could lose credibility in the scientific community.
Science has become a religion.
I have yet to see an atheist or agnostic passing out tracts, etc. I guess they don't feel very comforted by their beliefs, or motivated to share!

[Thread: Spiritual Warfare! Atheists at my college, please help]
Apparently either Satan was listening when I posted here that my sister is the first atheist that I've met (although, to be fair, I haven't met these people at my school) or God means to use me to minister to atheists.
Either way it's terribly hard and I need the advice of other strong Christians.
I study education at a large community college. In the student commons area there are bulletin boards to be used by students for just about any purpose. There are ads for housing and textbooks as well as ads for area churches and church events. I, and some other Christians, put tracts up there as well as on various free spaces (the tops of fire extinguishers, the bathrooms, etc.)
The tracts are always gone in a short amount of time and I assumed that they were taken by genuinely interested parties. Now I think they are taken down by atheists. This is why--
I went to school today and stopped by the bulletin boards to tack up more tracts, as I always do. There were no Christian tracts up but there were atheist tracts. They said things like "God is fake" and {Mod snip}. I took them down, of course, and I'm FURIOUS. It's complete and utter blasphemy. Who would put these up?! Why?! If you don't believe in God why try to trash Him and keep others from His message? It makes me physically ill. I kept them for evidence but I can't stand to even look at them.
What can I do? Can I take these tracts to the Dean? Do I have any recourse? I'm trying hard to pray for discernment but I'm honestly so furious that I'm just spitting mad that someone would do such a thing. I need words of wisdom from wise Christians who are used to dealing with this kind of thing because I'm in over my head.

When my beautiful cousin suddenly dumped her husband and "married" a woman in a lavish ceremony --happily attended by their parents, friends, family-- that did it for me. It was apparent our culture no longer viewed marriage as a sacred union to be respected.

Facebook has brought more harm to my family in recent history than anything I can recall. Because of it my nephew is getting divorced. My oldest daughter is not speaking to me after I called her out over some questionable posts.
My nephew's lawyer told my sister that in a recent consensus of lawyers, Facebook had played a role in 8 out of 10 divorce cases. Just this week Facebook announced their support of gay rights, stating "They were going to take an aggressive stance against Hate Speach". Thus they basically announced the censorship of christian messages and posts is going to increase.
Therefore "I Believe" it is an agent of satan and his world.

My daughter was near inconsolable and kept saying, "I don't understand", "I don't understand". I did, all to readily. I explained t her about darkness, spritual blindness, evil, stuff she already knows. But she kept shaking her head on how so many people could be SO blind as to not see what the progressive/left/demos/etc. are up to. I told her that Massachusetts, Nevada, and CA are still dark states and will continue to cling to their darkness.

I have a Facebook account only to be able to see photos of my grandson that my DIL will post. I have never posted on my FB account at all, as I don't like Facebook, I think it is the Devil's playground. I know it can be used as a witnessing tool, but i think it does more harm than good. Too many people have been hurt, the same with My Space and Twitter. People can post things as fast as they think them without filtering and with the way the world is today, so intolerant and hateful, it is dangerous.
Anyway,I looked at my DIL's Facebook today and she was high fiving Jon Stewart and saying "great job Jon"...blah blah!! Last week she was on the gay bandwagon and about how rotten the small minded people are that don't want gays together and for them to back off the gays and we are all bigots.
My son doesn't even know how to log on to FB, he doesn't do that stuff and he is very conservative. She was always moderate, but now she is going off the deep end. I don't think my son and DIL talk politics among themselves, he always says she doesn't keep up with things so he saves those conversations for our side of the family, his work friends and personal friends so I wonder if he knows how crazy liberal his wife is getting on FB.
I am upset, but all I can do is pray for her. My son is saved but he needs a strong Christian to encourage him, he has fallen away. Why he married a lapsed Catholic, I'll never know!! image

I agree with you. I believe that the human race has probably lost brain capacity over the centuries, due to the curse of sin. There are still a lot of very intellignet people in this world, but I believe the average intellect has probably declined significantly.

We visited my parents the Saturday before 9/11 and I had to go to KMart for some fish food for my children's pet beta. Every Muslim in the town must have been at the super KMart--it was almost all black because of all the abayas/chadors the women wore. It didn't dawn on me till weeks after 9/11 which was the following Tuesday that they were buying food to hunker down before the attack.
And I think that in fact they do obey sharia there. I saw the footage of the Christians witnessing at that fair. They weren't harrassing anyone but they were being harrassed by the Muslims.

I don't believe in coincidence. Some things happen because the Lord influences them. Other things happen because the Lord allows demonic forces to have their way.
In this case, I'd say the Lord caused that seal to fall. If we could see 10 years into the future we would probably know exactly why He chose to do that. All I can say is this...He loves the righteous and orders their steps. He causes the wicked to fall and He destroys them. Barack Obama is not a Christian and I would personally classify him as someone God considers wicked.
One other thing...when Barack Obama spoke at Notre Dame, he made them take down the cross. I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't God's way of notifying Obama that God can take him and his presidency down very easily.

Had a real God moment today when I stopped in the pet store to look at all the cute and furry critters. At the mice cage there was this one really pretty little black and white mouse. She was sitting on her hind legs, eyes closed and her two tiny front paws folded in prayer. Cutest thing ever!!!! I have 3 sisters and 2 brothers, my Mom and Dad have died and gone to hell because they did not believe in the Jesus of the Bible. I am the only one of my siblings that believe in Jesus as my savior. They do not want me around because every time I do come around they say that they can’t relax and that they feel guilty around me, hmmmm could it be the Holy Spirit is convicting them, I think so. [Bible verses...] You and all the true Christians are my true family we have been born again not of flesh but of the Spirit of God. So, my siblings are my family of the flesh but not of the Spirit. I will continue to see them, but with great sorrow and patients love and kindness in constant prayer for their salivation.
Today at work a co-worker and I were on our breaks at the same time. We had to eat out in the lobby (I work at a McDonald's) because the store manager was talking to another employee about something. He was making small talk and then out of nowhere asked me what I thought about the mosque in New York. I said that it shouldn't be built because of what Muslims did on 9/11. He said something about not all Muslims being that way. I said that Islam is a religion that tells its adherents to kill those who won't submit. He said (I'm paraphrasing but it was pretty close to this), "Well, I won't kill you if you don't submit." I kind of suspected that he was a Muslim but now I finally knew. And I have to admit, that last thing he said chilled me to the bone.
Anyway, I had a great opportunity to witness and I failed. I just froze up; I wasn't really sure what to say. I've never actually spoken to a person who's holy book tells him to kill me and everyone else that worships the true Living God. I don't know if I'm asking for advice or just sharing a story.
My question is this [...] where did gravity come from? Explain that! I pray for this man's soul, that he would come to know the only Living, True God. The God that has the power not only to take his breath away, but to judge him fairly and righteously to hell if he does not repent. The same God who has the power to heal his paralyzed body. Hawking's science cannot do that.

What to do about anti-Christian books, teachers, assignments in College?
I just got my books today and classes starts Monday. I'm going into a multimedia field and one of my classes is Computer Fundamentals of Visual Communications with the book Visual Communication. I pick it up to flip through it and on the first of second page is a big picture of Obama (and I think "here we go, the progressives are now in my life") I proceed to skim through the book and wow!!! It is one big blasphemy after another. It's like three pages of propaganda and one page of actual knowledge I would need to know, then more progressive propaganda.
How do I handle this? I know I will have to write papers on this affront to God's word, work and will, so what do I do? Pleasing the Lord is first in my thoughts and actions always, much more important than anything else. I do know that I will be expected to toe the party line like a good socialist, but I don't think I can do it. I wonder if God would want me to just not comment on the anti-God parts and do my papers on the rest or take a stand? The problem is that I think I will be kicked out pretty quick for not toeing the line. I wanted to learn web design not only for my living but to also spread the truth of the Lord and hopefully bring some to Christ through electronic means. I know I will be praying on this subject and know the Lord will direct me. I just wanted your thoughts and insights on this and what you would do. Thank you so much for your help.

Sherrimae, I have a friend that has child with autism, and she cannot even mention 0 by name because he starts freaking out. He starts rocking or pacing and talking about 0 sending him away. Also since your born again, I would suspect its hard to be around that stuff, I can't even stand to be around people who drink, cuss, and blaspheme with every breath (which describes almost all my former friends), notice I call them former friends... I still hope and pray for them but I will not hang around them anymore, because it grieves me too much.

I think that if he does not repent, he will become even more bitter towards God: revealing the truth about atheists. Atheism is less unbelief and more rebellion against God.
With nothing to look forward to other than oblivion or hell, he will find a way to blame God. Thus Hitchens will become the very hypocrite that he accuses us of being. He'll believe enough in God to blame Him, but not enough to set things right. Rebellious to the end.

I've been roaming around the 'net' reading the myriad of comments made from both sides of the aisle and pulpit. What amazes me is that no one seems to be addressing the effect on the children. It's a glaring ommission.
Homosexuality and all it's incarnations will now be taught as 'normal' in school irregardless of the child's or the child's family's religous beliefs. The children of America have lost their freedom to practice Christianity out loud or in private as any and all comments, beliefs, et.al. refuting the homosexual lifestyle will be seen as hate speech. All the fun that comes with these beliefs will soon follow. Being made an example of comes to mind.
So adorable little Sally, who's all of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade will be bombarded with text books showing Johnny's two mommies or daddies. She will be taught that this is 'normal', acceptable, and even encouraged as we 'must all explore our sexuality'. The lifestyle is self-perpetuating as it can't procreate--oh, but it's oh so 'normal'. Indeed.
Sally may even be questioned on where she got these views/beliefs. Why mommie/daddie/ grandma/grandpa of course. I'm not Chicken Little. This all will happen. The text books have already been printed, just waiting in the wings. This is not a tin foil meme, someone very close to me was a public elementry school librarian and retired early so they did not have to witness or be a part of what was coming down the pike for our dear innocent children. She read the textbooks. They're here.
So now we have these poor children who will not only be confused, but torn in their loyalties. What child has not looked up to and admired their kindergarten, 1st - 3rd grade teachers? And what if the teachers encourage the children to report on their family's views regarding this and other topics.
This was always going to happen. Watch how fast these textbooks make it into the school. We've been duped again. They just had to go through the 'motions'. One judge overthrows the will of 7,000,000 people? Yeah right. Where I come from, that's called living in a totalitarian state, communist state, etc., etc., whatever label anyone wants to put on it. Basically, anti-freedom.
My only remaining comment is to beg the Lord to please get us out of here so that His justice and will may be done.
