What is Secular Privilege?
When trying to better understand what white privilege is supposed to be, I discovered a series of articles that help by providing concrete examples, such as What Is White Privilege? Here Are 9 Everyday Examples by Suzannah Weiss. As I was reading through these, it occurred to me that the social justice movement has been suspiciously silent about a another form of privilege that may be just as extensive – secular privilege.
Let me use the first seven examples of white privilege from the Weiss article to show they could just as well represent examples of secular privilege.
1.Your Wages Aren’t Lower Because You are Religious
Atheists and agnostics have a higher household income than members of most religions.
While the Pew data don’t measure religiosity itself, it is worth noting that the religious group with the highest household incomes also happens to be the least religious.
4.Most Products Are Geared Toward You
A secular person can go into any corner convenience store to buy beer, cigarettes, lottery tickets, or other secular goods and walk out with something that suits them. Religious people will not find religious items so readily available (like pocket Bibles or kosher food), reminding them that in the eyes of mainstream culture, they are invisible.

I owe a lot to Magic, and I’ll keep playing with friends and family, but, sadly, I’m done with Wizards. As I said above, this has been some time in coming. The company’s slide to the woke left has been quite apparent, as has a drop in quality. For quite some time there were unaddressed issues with card stock, and, more recently, they’ve taken to policing their art. They’ve even gone to far as to censor art deemed “insensitive,” or somehow “racist” from their Gatherer database. Moreover, while I’ve not bought much new stuff in the last few years (something I’m glad for now), it is clear that the art quality has declined in two ways. In the first, they’re getting cheap, preferring digital artists over those who actually paint. This results in less distinctive art styles, and less interesting art. Even worse, they’ve been making the art much more PC via “body diversity,” heavy handed “racial diversity,” deliberately taking on more of an anti “male gaze” approach to portraying women (while not doing the same for men), along with inserting more heavy handed SJW stuff into the game. But I’m not here to go into depth on all of that.
The final straw for me was what Wizards just did to longtime artist for the game, Terese Nielsen.
Anyone who’s played Magic for any length of time will have heard her name and seen her art. She’s one of the best the game has ever had, and was one of the few remaining artists with a truly distinct style.
That’s over now. Yup, she’s been officially canceled, for the high crime of following some of the wrong people. You can read more about it at the archived article here. Long story short, she followed some of the wrong, people, and held some wrong beliefs. So despite the fact that she’s part of the LGBT community herself, she was summarily dropped. There were two studies done in 1978 and 1982 were average looking men and women asked opposite sex strangers if they wanted to have sex. The results showed that 0% of women agreed to have sex, while about 70% of men agreed to have sex. Then in 2015 there was a social experiment done were an attractive woman asked 100 guys for sex, but this time only 30% of the men agreed to have sex with her. I can't definitively say what caused this disparity, but now I think feminism may actually be a very plausible explanation. I think a lot more men now feel like their sexual attention is unwanted,and as a result they may be more likely to think that a woman coming up to them,and asking for sex is a scam, or a setup and will decline the offer. That's just my guess, but one thing I know for sure is that men should be able to express their sexuality, and not feel like these there sexuality is unwanted and predatory.
