Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered the Navy to rename the USNS Harvey Milk, a highly rare move that will strip the ship of the moniker of a slain gay rights activist who served as a sailor during the Korean War.

U.S. officials say Navy Secretary John Phelan put together a small team to rename the replenishment oiler and that a new name is expected this month. The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations, said the next name had not yet been chosen.

The change was laid out in an internal memo that officials said defended the action as a move to align with President Donald Trump and Hegseth’s objectives to “re-establish the warrior culture.”

It marks the latest move by Hegseth and the wider Trump administration to purge all programs, policies, books and social media mentions of references to diversity, equity and inclusion. And it comes during Pride Month — the same timing as the Pentagon’s campaign to force transgender troops out of the U.S. military.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement that Hegseth is “committed to ensuring that the names attached to all DOD installations and assets are reflective of the Commander-in-Chief’s priorities, our nation’s history, and the warrior ethos.”

When you've got hundreds or even thousands of them in most urban areas, you might think that women would be able to look around and see the women who have shitty life-outcomes and compare them to the women with successful life outcomes, and then try to emulate the women who have made good, genuinely happy lives for themselves, instead of the broken and battered used-up hookers that no man wants to touch.

But somehow, it seems like somewhere between 10%-20% of the young women of the next generation have as their life's highest aspirations to make it rich as a hooker, and through things like having mixed-race kids. I don't understand it, but then, I also don't really understand communism, either. And that's the other idiotic idea that women seemingly love to flock to.

At what point do we, as a society, say "enough is enough", and understand that most women are simply little more than idiot-children in an adult's body, and take away their rights to make decisions for themselves? It's only been done by pretty much every great society that's ever existed throughout history, so I don't understand the recent obsession with women's political power over the past 100 years or so. They haven't used it well, and they've done their very best to destroy any semblance of stability--financial, within the home as well as out in wider society, and it's time for that kind of nonsense to stop.

Sweden was a once and beautiful and prosperous place, but they elected a "feminist government" and within 20 years managed to make it the "rape capital" of the Western World. They've destroyed all sense of propriety, any sense of Western ideals of justice, and are now going broke at a record pace.

Jack Hibbs, a far-right anti-LGBTQ pastor, conspiracy theorist, and Christian nationalist, is among the most egregious violators, as he routinely uses his pulpit and public appearances to spread demonstrably false claims about the Founding Era

He did it again during a sermon last Sunday, when he claimed that the Founding Fathers banned Catholics from serving as president or in Congress

"Anybody remember JFK? John F. Kennedy?" Hibbs asked his congregation. "You want to know why it was very controversial for him to become a president? Because he was a Catholic. We had never had a Catholic president. Did you know that our Founding Fathers refused to allow a Catholic to be not only in Congress, but to be a president?"

"They wrote it," Hibbs continued. "They said the person may be very moral and very, very knowledgeable, but the problem is for a Constitution to work, if he's loyal to the Catholic Church, it will mean that he's loyal to the Pope and we can't have the Pope interfering in the operation of the Constitution. They didn't want to have that distraction. Think of that for a moment. Man, you mention that today and it's like, 'You can't say that!' But what a remarkable thing"[…]
Just to emphasize how wrong Hibbs’ history is, a few easily researchable facts: Charles Carroll, a Catholic, signed the Declaration of Independence and was elected to the first U.S. Senate in 1789. His cousin Daniel Carroll was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention, signed the Constitution, and was elected to the first U.S. House of Representatives

It might be that Sonalian immigration into Minnesota was just a vehicle to use to get Ilham Omar into the House of Representatives. She couldn't have gotten elected without it. If congressional districts were redrawn to help elect black candidates, why not her?

Harvard can remain relevant longer than we can remain solvent, but long-term they’re completely screwed. It’s not just Trump; the Right as a whole is sick of academia acting as an organ of the Left, sick of asking nicely for them to stop, and Republican politicians will increasingly see that there’s no downside to using all the powers at their disposal against academia. What can Harvard do? Stop being racist and stop discriminating against Conservatives? That’s anathema to them. Make a big show of how hard they are #resisting Trump? That cements them further as the enemy of half the country, while only gaining tiny margins on the left. That’s deadly for an institution that wants to be seen as a leading source of legitimacy for the ruling class of the whole country. And it’s no good for an industry that is heavily funded by a government which will be run by their enemies half the time.

This feels like one of those collapses that will happen very slowly and then all at once. Don’t trust in that big endowment either; government surely has a thousand ways to take care of that.

President Trump said Monday he is pardoning Scott Jenkins, a former Virginia sheriff who was convicted of making several businessmen sworn law enforcement officers in exchange for cash bribes.

Former Culpeper County Sheriff Jenkins, 53, was found guilty on fraud and bribery charges and sentenced to 10 years in prison in March. But on Monday, Mr. Trump posted on Truth Social that Jenkins and his family "have been dragged through HELL by a Corrupt and Weaponized Biden DOJ."

"This Sheriff is a victim of an overzealous Biden Department of Justice, and doesn't deserve to spend a single day in jail. He is a wonderful person, who was persecuted by the Radical Left "monsters," and "left for dead," Mr. Trump said in the post. "He will NOT be going to jail tomorrow, but instead will have a wonderful and productive life."

Jenkins was indicted in 2023 on 16 counts. In December, a jury found Jenkins guilty of one count of conspiracy, four counts of honest services fraud and seven counts of bribery. Jenkins appealed his conviction in April.

Federal prosecutors say Jenkins took $75,000 worth of bribes. He allegedly accepted cash and campaign contributions from eight people — including two undercover FBI agents — and in return, gave them badges and made them auxiliary deputy sheriffs, despite not having any training or vetting. He also allegedly pushed officials to restore one bribe-payer's right to possess a gun as a convicted felon.

Jenkins took the stand in his own defense and said there was no connection between the payments he received and the badges he handed out, according to news reports. Testifying against Jenkins were the undercover FBI agents who were sworn in as deputies in 2022 and immediately thereafter gave Jenkins envelopes with $5,000 and $10,000 cash, respectively.

Trump said Jenkins tried to offer evidence in his defense, but U.S. District Judge Robert Ballou, a Biden appointee, "refused to allow it, shut him down, and then went on a tirade."

Acting United States Attorney Zachary T. Lee said at the time that Jenkins violated his oath of office "and this case proves that when those officials use their authority for unjust personal enrichment, the Department of Justice will hold them accountable."

A longstanding Trump supporter, Jenkins is the latest ally of the president to receive a pardon.

After 2020, where cops would not break up riots, but they would enforce mask mandates, it’s obvious that law enforcement could not be relied upon to disregard stupid or illegal bullshit from on high. If someone tried to use law enforcement to push political agendas. We’ve seen it over the years of Biden. I can at least thing of three people the ATF outright assassinated over the past few years. And really, I wouldn’t trust the FBI until they were disbanded, fired, and then filtered through the US Marshall’s hiring process.

You know, it’s funny. The technological brown shirts who operate lefty bot accounts on X for the sole purpose of attacking those who disagree with them… they don’t realize what happened to their historical predecessors.
